I'll Never Love Again, as far as I'm aware, doesn't actually appear in the movie in the same way, it's for the credits - so the situation is different.

the credits song is 'Is That Alright?'. We actually heard a snippet. 'I'll Never Love Again' is sang on the movie, on the very last scene, by Gaga.

I don't think any of it has been edited or scrapped

I guess we will differ about this. I think it has, and a much better version of the song (and in full) exists, and it will never see the day of light, contrary to 'I´ll Never Love Again', a song that appears on the film, and as you said, was specifically composed and crafted for the film, and it has a film version and extended version on the soundtrack. I'm not saying we should have a studio version of every song. Just talking about Shallow.

How is everyone SO freaking convinced there’s a “studio” version out there?

As far as any of us should be concerned...this is the ONLY version.

Maybe because there is a trailer that uses that version?

Just because there is no background crowd noise in the trailer does NOT mean there is an entire, separately recorded version.

Trailers need sound mixing and editing too...perhaps the crowd noise was edited out of the recorded, sole, only version so that the editors would get the effect they wanted with the trailer?

I just don’t see what everyone is hearing, outside of a lack of crowd noise, that makes everyone SO convinced that there is a separate version. There isn’t. Gaga herself said all the music was recorded live. The crowd noise was edited out for the trailer. That’s it.

if there was a separate studio version it would be on the soundtrack, and there isn’t one.
