Gagadonna 10,801 Posted September 28, 2018 Share Posted September 28, 2018 I was pretty skeptical (and a bit disappointed) when I first heard Shallow because of its unusual structure. But now, I think it's simply and purely beautiful. Gaga has never been conventional (minus The Cure), and she proves us that she can shine while being off the beaten track. Her voice is so raw and yet so gracious, and the lyrics so breathtaking. The song really speaks to me, and I'm glad I gave it another chance The kind of same thing happened to me when I first heard Perfect Illusion.
