Don't Be Mad At Me But...

she already said a few things that made me thinking. first the feeling of "wrapping up the first decade" as if there is a major change coming. she also said that vegas will allow her to do more movies in the future, i really hope that doesnt mean she gives acting the higher priority over popmusic in the future.

hausbeauty will also play a big role in that next chapter of her career. this is something thats gonna need a lot time and effort. and its a financial risk as well, touring might isnt that safe source of money fot the future for her. especially if she wants to start a family soon, what propably means a break for 4-5 years.

tony is 92 now, his priority in her life will be very high, its not like she can plan on doing that in 5 years.

I think Vegas is the wrong move for Gaga. I think she's made incredible decisions post-Troy, but I can't wrap my head around this decision. It just seems like something she should do in say ten years from now, but it just seems too soon. The Joanne tour was successful, and I know that Gaga is mostly doing this for health reasons, I still feel that a residency in Vegas still gives the general public the wrong idea about you, and places you in the past of pop, making it even harder to get radio play etc. I also just think it is going to be a source of humor from Gaga haters to point at and make Gaga seem like a flop. I just don't think it's a good move at the moment.

If anything, I would say having a Vegas residency shows that Gaga has made enough impact to HAVE a residency, like Britney, she has put her stamp on the music industry and now she's secure enough to be able to dedicate time to a residency.

To be fair, most of the GP don't really care where you have played at. Let's not act like the GP knows so much about pop artists' careers as much as Twitter stans do.

Britney managed to tour in America, Asia and Europe after her residency, and Gaga has 100 times more talent than she does, so Gaga will be fine. She'll still be an international force after Enigma, especially now that she has reached even a wider demographic with her movie career starting to blossom.

Secondly, I don't think Gaga cares what people think at all, it's a 100-million dollar paycheck for 74 shows, it's freaking 100 million dollars, why do you care what people think? Think about all the things you could do with that money!

This puts things in perspective for me, maybe I'm just feeling bad that I used the residency card against Britney stans. :rip:

But she was doing great there actually...

Well monsters say the same thing about ASIB ... :trollga:

She'll travel less, makes money, can finish LG6 in Vegas (rather than on the road), and has off periods to pursue other things.

By the way, doing a Vegas residency doesn't mean not releasing new music, or even making some promo WW... We know she'll have some time between the dates.

I don't think LG's residency could be compared to Britney or Elton or Celine that made years and years dedicating themselves only to Vegas.

I'm glad ASIB has great reviews, but let's not overhype the whole thing, the movie is not out yet. Critics reception sometimes can be very different to the viewers reception (not talking about the stans that will find it perfect even if there's flaws)

i mean Madonna didn't even tour for Bedtime Stories and Ray Of Light, so i'd prefer a Vegas residency over no shows at all, even tho i won't go :messga:

i'm not overhyping ASIB at all, but there's huge excitement over what many of the fans thought would be the second coming of Glitter ...  It's  these so-called fans (like the OP) who are overly critical about Gaga's decisions, as if they know any better than Gaga herself.

Sometimes you just have to jump into whatever you believe in, regardless of the naysayers.

There is the obvious stigma and she is aware of it according to the Vogue interview.

I think there are only a few artist who do Vegas by choice as opposed to need. Britney, LG, and perhaps Celine. Celine is over 40 and will not get radio play anoymore. Britney has no spark anymore. LG will be the first and only Vegas artist that will be relevant on radio. She will continue to release albums and score hits. LG will change the stigma that Vegas is for has-beens.

At this point we don't have to worry about Stan wars. LG is in another level of her career and if she gets that Oscar nomination it's game over for the haters.

Wet Fire

She's doing Vegas one of the reasons being that she has enough time between shows for her to not cancel touring for fibromyalgia and that way she can prevent wasting a lot of money. Plus, we know Gaga wants to challenge the idea that singls do Vegas during their last years. :ohwell:
