The Chainsmokers and NGHTMRE Get Spooky in 'Save Yourself' Video.

Halloween is just around the corner, and that means scary stuff is in the air. The Chainsmokers and NGHTMRE's recent collaboration "Save Yourself" features a lot of brutal bass and menacing dance-metal elements. It conjures a freaky scene on the dance floor, and so, too, does its official music video (out Sept. 14) take a turn for the frightening. 

Directed by LA's ThatOneBlondKid, it showcases The Chainsmokers' singer Drew Taggart looking mad haggard without any shirt cloth to spare. He seems to be out for blood in the middle of the night, prowling around fancy houses, appearing on their security footage and otherwise looking like a total creeper. He and some faceless buddies wreak havoc on Hollywood. Is anyone safe?It's a bit of low-budget magic to get you in the mood for tricks and treats. The "Save Yourself" video comes just days before The Chainsmokers' next collab with country music's Kelsea Ballerini.

I like the purge-inspired idea and I appreciate that he's shirtless and covered in dirt 

but the way he's "acting" and the way they edited the part where he's going crazy makes the video kinda cringy
