This is what I’m scared of since it started to become the front runner. It happened to la la land and 3 billboards

The backlash suffered by both of those films had a lot to do with problematic racial narratives, and it doesn't *seem* like that is going to be an issue with ASIB? I mean, who knows... things can be spun... It's not a wildly diverse cast, particularly gender-wise, so it could happen, but you would think critics would be eager to point out problems like that considering 3B and LLL stuff went down just 9 months ago.

It’s called Negative Marketting and it’s completely legal and in fact encouraged tbh so I kinda saw this coming

I bet it's Fox, they don't want a musical overshadowing Bohemian Rhapsody and ruining it's Oscar viability.

Wish them luck with a gay erasing story and a rapist involved

This is sadly true to every major contenders and on how the way people talk about it - it is like an industry's open secret but I put my faith in WB's publicist and strategy roll-out on this. I'm pretty sure, they have a standard on how to minimize (if not eradicate completely) these "takedown machines" and backlash that's coming.

I think its helpful for us not to feed into this negativity by NOT sharing slanderous articles, calling our critics which will pan out ASIB and even to these "memes" that can turn into negative press. Speaking of which, saw a meme wherein B. Coop's pressed Gaga's nose and it has some mucus that came of of Gaga's nose -  it receive disgusts and some people even think it is part of the movie. So, you know, be a responsible monster for once. :huntyga:

The problem is that Gaga is really a big hated target by many stan cultures (Madonna, Brit, Beyoncé, Riri, Katy) and I am afraid they will start some kind of dirty campaign because of jealousy.. I really hope that the backlash won't be as bad.

The diversity test has to be passed, there’s a black man whose seen in a positive light, a white man who isn’t, and a powerful woman being powerful. SJWs have little to complain about.

They’re all too incompetent to come together like that. What will they bring up that hasn’t already been brought up?

The stan bases do not have the strong power to ruin a movie, especially before it's been released. If they do then they're idiots, but the biggest issue is Hollywood ruining the movie, not the stans.

Hope you are right. I just have seen on awardswatch that usually a lot of early acclaimed and pre-hyped movies well receive some kind of backlash.
