Stef 61,491
Apparently this is a common chap tactic in the run up to Oscar season sounds like some movie studios may try to counteract the amazing press this move has received. It is all in attempt to better their chances at award wins. Someone over on PJ said that this happens every year to the major contendors, and depending on what gets dug up, it can be very effective. Here we go, blackface drama 3.0 Signature loading… 👹🖤

FfFfFfFF 54,014
But wouldn't this happen with every movie if it was really a common practice?
TheodoreRx 1,540
I bet it's Fox, they don't want a musical overshadowing Bohemian Rhapsody and ruining it's Oscar viability.

Mulholland 1,052
I heard that Netflix recently scooped up, like, EVERY awards consultant in town for their "Roma" push, which makes me think they'll be part of this. Here we go, blackface drama 3.0 Yes, unfortunately this happens a lot. This year, for example, they even accused "The Shape of Water" of plagiarism without ANY concrete evidence. But luckily, in that case, it didn't stop the film from winning the most important awards.

grenziel 538
This is sadly true to every major contenders and on how the way people talk about it - it is like an industry's open secret but I put my faith in WB's publicist and strategy roll-out on this. I'm pretty sure, they have a standard on how to minimize (if not eradicate completely) these "takedown machines" and backlash that's coming. I think its helpful for us not to feed into this negativity by NOT sharing slanderous articles, calling our critics which will pan out ASIB and even to these "memes" that can turn into negative press. Speaking of which, saw a meme wherein B. Coop's pressed Gaga's nose and it has some mucus that came of of Gaga's nose - it receive disgusts and some people even think it is part of the movie. So, you know, be a responsible monster for once. Some of them want to abuse you, some of them want be abused.
