There's a good chance "Venom" could take the No. 1 spot opening weekend, but most predictions have ASIB earning more in the long term, which is more important than No. 1 vs. No. 2. Movie studios don't look at their releases like stans look at Billboard; they care about what earns the most overall.

And that said, ASIB's opening weekend projections continue to climb, so it could be a race!

Ok like venom is going to take the top spot for sure, these superhero movies make a ton of money on first weekends. ASIB is a musical drama, it will not attrict the same amount of people and that is OK. Venom probly has a 100 million dollar + budget with advertising. However, what is important is not if the movie debuts at number one, its longeviety. good word to mouth will be very important for a movie like a star is born.

:ohno:

Pls don't. Save Venom for the followimg weekend. Don't trash a #1 for Gaga.

Literally I could care less and I’m sure WB isn’t shaking in their shoes about it.

ASIB will be a success and it doesn’t have to get a number one to prove it.

Venom is projected to earn more than 70 million. But we shouldn't be worry about ASIB it is going to be leggy and has much smaller budget.

Sis we been knew, and I couldn't care less if ASIB does not debut at #1 that week, as long as it is commercially successful (and it outgrosses Venom overall like what some predictors are saying :giggle:). The Greatest Showman totally underperformed on its first weekend and slayed after a few weeks.

I haven't seen any hype around Venom but ASIB has been hyped for weeks now. Venom won't be a problem.

No honey there's lot of hype around Venom.  It's trailer is most watched trailer from the spider verse universe.

Why are you worry tho? These films have different crowds altogether.

Plus there are a few of Spider-Man fans, and specifically Venom fans, who are not convinced by the two trailers  that been released. It is a wild card at this point. The only redeeming factors for now, aside from the brand itself, are Tom Hardy and Michelle Williams.

Sis we did not. But a major box office prediction site does.
