Yuuri 21,636 Posted September 7, 2018 Share Posted September 7, 2018 India has struck down a colonial-era law punishing consensual gay sex, but there are still 69 other countries with laws on the books that criminalize same-sex sexual activity between consenting adults. Of the 193 countries recognized by the United Nations, the following criminalize same-sex relations, according to the Geneva-based International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association, which advocates on behalf of more than 1,300 member organizations across the world. After the recent India news, I hope other "conservative" countries follow suit. I'm especially hopeful of Tunisia and Lebanon (the latter of which is already fairly progressive generally) because they both have had numerous pro-LGBT movements. Anyway, most of these countries are really poor it makes sense. Obviously we still have a long way to go, though. And for anyone living in one of the 69, stay strong. You'll be free one day. I'm talkin' 'bout forever, baby. Saudi Arabia is the only Country in the world with the discipline and Oil Spare capacity to maintain order in OPEC and keep a certain level of stability in the global oil supply chain and as such the world lets them get away with a lot because they are an important Nation As the world breaks free from OPEC oil thanks to green alternatives and new oil sources in North America, their immunity should disappear within the next couple decades I hope Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
