I'm a little confused cause The Shallow sounds very rock/pop, very Joanne, but people are saying the leaks sound very electro pop. I'm excited, but how is that gonna work?:wtfga:btw Why Did You Do That is a BOP

I feel like I'm the only one not impressed by this one. Sounds really repetitive, even for Gaga.

Too many people here with moral superiority complex.

I'm not impressed too. I love a lot more ARUTW and Shallow (saying this as being a huge Gaga electro pop music fan)

Same.

Shallow, ARUTW and INLA are guaranteed hits.

They literally HIT you after the first listening and you can't get them out of your head.

Really can't wait for the studio versions and first radio plays.

Technically it's not a Gaga song, "Why Do You Do That?" has a purpose for the plot of the movie. Monsters that have seen ASIB said that it's a joke song :crossed:

I'm waiting for the studio versions as well before saying anything. But I feel like the ballads will be the best of this soundtrack. I just have the feeling for the moment that the 'pop' song produced by DJWS, Nilan and cie will be a bit disappointing (and seeing LGNow first review, I'd say I may be right). Just my feeling for the moment of course, let's wait and see...

The only leak that sounds remotely electro-pop is Why Did You Do and maybe Heal Me which are in the vein of The Cure (R&B-inspired, catchy beat). The Shallow is indeed raw sounding and can fit into Joanne and also the ballads (except they are way more cinematic and easy on the ear).

Same happened with Fashion! on ARTPOP.

I love this song but when I first saw David Guetta listed in the credits I was waiting for some hard bop.

So I'm not expecting anything big from the pop music on ASIB.

Ballads are the thing here as you said!

Why did you do that is not dissapointing tho, like the melody before the chorus is insanely catchy, And the beat on the chorus goes haaard

Breakdown

I've read in threads from people that already have seen the movie there's going to be rock/country rock, ballads and some pop/R&B; so there's going to be a variety of genres/styles in the soundtrack.

So starry eyed on the flowery hillside, breathless and fervid amid the dandelions.

“Why Do You Do That” and “Heal Me” (aka “The Cure” 2.0) are both tropical house. There’s going to be some country rock song, some ballads. It’s going to be a soundtrack with different genres.
