Yuuri 21,636
It's very dumb how artists but a ballad between two pop songs. Lady Gaga: Joanne A-YO JOANNE JOHN WAYNE Troye Sivan: Bloom My My My! The Good Side Bloom Are just two examples. Joanne would've fit much better after Million Reasons, and The Good Side would've been much better near the end. Gagz 2,579
I think sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. I don’t think Joanne fits between Ayo and Joh Wayne, but I like Dope between MJH and Gypsy.

Of course ARTPOP's make sense because it seems like some songs go in pairs, Donatella + Fashion!, Aura + Venus + G.U.Y, etc.
Tom Nook 37,808
imo it makes the ballad stand out more between two pop songs, put it towards the end with the other slow tempo songs makes it seem like filler Uh Red Wine... Convict... Gah Gah...

It's because Gypsy is a ballad produced as a pop song, and also because Dope fits the journey of ARTPOP after MJH OT: I don't think it's shocking that they put Joanne where it is, I have never been shocked by the place they put any Gaga ballad at in any record actually, I don't know why

REALITY 77,456
I mean, but then the songs don't really have any structure. There's a reason why Gaga put the songs where they are. Lyrically and message-wise, it has a purpose, but also, sonically, it has a purpose. You can't just put all the upbeat songs together and then all of the ballads together. That's not interesting or fun. Plus, it's nice to have a contrast between heavy upbeat songs and lighter ballads. PerfectGUY 7,822
When I'm energetic I play Joanne the album And it's true that Joanne(song) position is a bummer for that No hate towards Joanne(song) by the way, it's my favourite from the album after Perfect Illusion
