But what does frontloaded mean

She is winning again…. somehow she always stays here. I can’t stand it.

But what does frontloaded mean

the success happens in all the beginning weeks

like if a single/album goes to #1 on it's first week but drops to #4 the next week and continues to tumble down

Receipts

Beyonce : 617k (with three days of sales : first week in the USA) ended at 2,4M

Born This Way : 1,108M (first week : full week) ended at 2,5M

the one that actually had an era and wasnt just to make some coin was definitely the least front loaded

Was Beyonce even an era lol? I mean she didn't have a lead and all videos were released at once. Drunk on Love is the only song that felt like a real single (and the only one that had success).

I'm gonna start a mess but Gaga only did those first week numbers thanks to the discount :lolly:

... and now i just sit in silence.

Sales-wise, Born This Way. Content-wise, BEYONCÉ.

At least we still had videos to look forward to for Born This Way. BEYONCÉ was finished once you watched the Grown Woman video and you didn't have anything to look forward to until Lemonade randomly dropped.

Title of this thread is "frontloaded" not "succesfull". If Gaga's first week numbers are inflated as you suggest it means it didn't debuted as strong yet it had longevity so it's not "frontloaded".

and without them she still did 600-700k PURE sales which is still better than the majority of the pop girls back then AND now. Self Titled's first week sales were about 800k WITH streams so anyways

I think Gaga's is ultimately more front loaded (worldwide, I don't think so, though) but what I can say for sure is that the BTW definitely had more impact than Beyonce in the long run. It never fails to amaze me how much the public has glossed over that album a mere 4.5 years later, even though it was all anyone could talk about at the time. Lemonade had a bigger impact, despite it selling less, which is super weird. Outwith the "singles," the rest of the setlist of Beyonce has so little views. I really don't think its been remembered well outside Drunk In Love. 7/11 has her third highest views of all time despite the fact that it was off the barely publicised re-release and barely anyone knows that song other than superfans, which makes me think fake views are at play. Lemonade has a bit more impact but not by that much.
