I think for their times they were equally good.

First of all, there in 2 completely different timings :lmao:

But yeah, still, Born This Way on a roll, Gaga just has a nice warm feeling in her music that just comforts you in a way, don't know how to explain it other than she has soul :D

I stanned Katy during Prism and wasn’t necessarily a Gaga fan during Born This Way and I still think Born This Way was bigger

I would say Born This Way for the following reasons:

- She released this **** when same-sex marriage was banned or not legal in all but FIVE states. Can we say POLITICAL icon because the cultural and political stock Gaga risked in releasing Born This Way in 2011 will be written about in history books.

- It was critically acclaimed. Prism was not.

- Even without the Amazon discount, BTW sold around 800,000 albums its first week. Prism sold 280,000.

- Prism had two massive singles... and that was it. What were the other 3 singles it had? Does the GP know? In comparison, BTW had one massive single, a slightly less big but still huge hit in TEOG, and two Top 10 hits.

- Gaga grossed nearly $200 million from just 89 shows for her 8-leg world tour. Katy grossed just over $200 million from  151 shows for her 6-leg world tour.

If it weren't for the huge success of Dark Horse, Prism would not be viewed as a commercial success to the extent it is right now. Its other singles actually performed very poorly, but I think because Roar and DK both were #1s (and fairly big #1s at that), it balances it out in a lot of people's minds. In that sense, Prism was a singles-centric era.

Born This Way, while also having huge singles, was also about its message and the movement it was part of. It was a much more important – culturally, musically, politically – piece of music than anything Ms. Perry has ever released.

tl;dr - Born This Way

Prism had 2 huge hits but it kinda stopped there. BTW had only one big hit but still four top10 singles and huge album sales. Two great and very well-known performances (Grammy and VMA). BTWBall was huge too, I believe bigger than Prismatic Tour. When it comes to media, Gaga was almost omnipresent even during MTN era so it's fair to say BTW was bigger.
