I haven’t watched it in almost a year now. I actually think it’s a very well done documentary and is surprisingly underrated for some reason.

I watched it like twice and then pretty much forgot about it, but tonight (at like 1:45am) I was like why the **** not, I’m not tired, and I just finished it now. I love seeing gaga like this. We rarely do, and it really does move me just how down to earth, emotional, and genuine (also kind of witty) she is.

I love this movie and I’m almost ashamed I’ve watched it so little, cause I’ve wanted a real true gaga documentary for years.

It makes me appreciate Joanne, and down to earthga a lot more, so I’m alright with another not crazy era for LG6 (although if she does one, I’m not complaining :ohwell:

Spoiler

Ps sorry this is super incoherent, it’s 3:15am where I am, and I woke up at 5 yesterday  morning so I don’t really know what I’m doing with my life at the moment :lolly:

I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill.

I actually only watched the first 35 mins of it. As for a  long time, I wanted to watch it with English subtitles available but... that was not an option...   This week i`m watching the rest!

Spoiler

I got to the boobs part, could you have imagined my face :laughga:

I'm planning to rewatch it just because my earbuds weren't working properly (you know..when one earbud stops working completely and you have to completely rely on the other) the first time and I couldn't really hear everything that was said.

tbh its really good and interesting

Oh it's so underrated! I hadn't even set a reminder for the release date, when I signed into Netflix that weekend I was shocked that it was up and watched it immediately. I've probably seen it twice in full (when I go back to watch it I normally skip to my favorite parts!), so I feel you, OP.

It's an incredible watch and I agree - I personally think she comes across very genuine and almost relatable, even though she is a massive star.

Spoiler

I remember seeing reviews about how fake it is, how she "only shows us what she wants to show us" and that it's manipulative. Honestly WTF I got none of that. Anyway don't look it up or you'll get mad like I did haha.

It totally made me appreciate Joanne era more than I already did. I love where she is now - I know with LG6 she'll bring back a little bit of CrazyGa which we all love, but to be honest seeing her become this confident, mature Gaga she is today makes me so happy. I definitely feel like I've grown with her through all the tributes and classy performances; she's on a different level to all the "pop artists" thriving today, and I'm not mad about it :vegas:

It's a nice documentary.

The only thing I didn't like was the editing - as in it could be better structured.
Took me a while to understand there was a timeline there, that she was recording Joanne and getting ready for the SuperBowl etc. It could've been clearer on that just by adding titles like "Making 'Joanne' - Day 2 in Studio with Mark Ronson" or "SuperBowl Rehearsals" - and adding dates or even Chapters to help us know what was going on.
Someone who's not a Gaga fan wouldn't understand much of what was going on.

But content-wise it's a nice documentary.

I honestly wish they'd shoot more Netflix docs for celebrities like this. I get no one really quite has years like Gaga's 2016-17 was so it's hard to pick a candidate, but Chris did a great job getting a little beyond the "image" and saw the subject really well. Plus, all the cameos were cute especially because they weren't forced or anything.

It was not good :messga:

For a fan it's different because we just love watching Gaga doing anything but it's hard for me to imagine a non-fan or casual fan being willing to sit through that thing. It's pretty dull and boring as in not a lot happens. The only thing of interest is her chronic pain but that does not a pop star documentary make.

I just rewatched it the other day as well. One aspect I really love about it is the chose and placement of the music. Whoever was in charge of that did an incredible job because the music added a feel to the documentary, it was like a character.

And of course, as a fan, it was interesting to watch Gaga be so personal. There were some nice quotes from Gaga as well. I kind of wish there could have been more though.
