I've been thinking about the official review that came out today & what my friend who saw a pre-screening of the movie last November said and it sounds pretty evident that the end of the movie will be traumatic. I've seen rumors/ideas that Bradley Cooper's character will die, but that seems ... predictable? A Star is Born is rated R & part of the reasoning is substance abuse. Since that's common/prevalent in Hollywood today, it could make it a timely narrative on addiction/mental health. I think if Gaga's character, Ally, starts using it could easily tie into aspects of her career in which she has already suffered. I think if Ally does die, that will be how she becomes a star. It'll elevate her to becoming famous, and thus achieving her dreams. It's something Gaga has done before, so I could see her being attracted to the role because of that idea too. I will Never Love Again is her song, that really makes me question my theory. It could be about Bradley's character passing, and make it a strong record, but it could be written in the context of his character leaving her because she continually chooses drugs over him. I currently think the end will be her overdosing and Bradley finding her, thus launching her into stardom. It'd be timely, relevant and could be done with class without playing into stereotypes. Amy Winehouse, Whitney, etc I think maybe her dying finally gets her in the spotlight, which would be really sad. That would be kind of an original plot twist, i havent heard of any movie doing that. I think it definitely is why this movie is being so lauded and praise. Remakes typically don't receive THIS kind of hype. It would really cement Gaga/Bradley as extreme risk-takers. gagzus 16,055 Posted August 27, 2018 Share Posted August 27, 2018 well (spoiler btw) Spoiler jackson dies, they even showed a part of the segment where he gets killed in the trailer and gaga is crying after finding him. the song at the end (I Will Never Love Again) is her performing live for her fans after becoming massively famous but the love of her life is dead.
