I can't reveal the source either, but OP is being legit. I was in the room when he had the conversation with her. He isn't allowed to reveal her name or any other proof, but she sounded excited for the release and loved Gaga's performance in the last scene when she preforms I Will Never Love Again.

Put on your shades, 'cause I'll be dancing in the flames

The biggest criticism she said was that she didn’t think this film was different enough from previous versions to merit another remake.

Ehh, that’s not really a negative criticism IMO. I feel like classic stories are always going to get remade because of their novelty (look at Annie for example, I’m pretty sure I read somewhere it’s being greenlit for a another remake when we literally just had one in 2014).

Besides the time between each ASIB remake isn’t 5-10 years - it’s MUCH longer. So I think this version is important because it’s for THIS generation, and that for me, has merit. I’m not planning to watch the other films until I’ve seen this one, as I’m 24 and being a Gaga stan since I was 14 makes me feel like this is the perfect way for me to enter the ASIB universe. Gaga to me, is what Barbra & Judy were to 24yo’s in the 70s & 50s (respectively). Those films, even though they are timeless in their own way and I will revisit them and respect them, were made in a different time and for a different audience. I’m excited to see this classic story for the first time with actors I’m familiar with and have grown up with.

Take Annie for example - the 1983 version is a classic/the og, the 1999 Disney version has a place in my heart because it’s the one I saw growing up (the first one I was alive for lol) and I have respect for the 2014 version because it’s a fresh take on the story, with the extra songs written by Sia and involvement of social media in Annie’s fight to find her parents.

So yes, members of the GP who think it’s an unecessary film have clearly invested in the earlier remakes and can’t review the 2018 version objectively, or at least without feeling some reservations. It’s an age thing too (I don’t mean this in a bad way though! For example my mom won’t appreciate it the way I do purely because the 1976 is her “classic” one/the one of her generation. That’s just how it is!)

Anyway, as Bradley said in the EW Interview, he just felt like this was a project he needed to make regardless of what anyone thought, and I love his passion for it, I love that he chose our girl to be in it, and I can’t wait!!! :vegas:

This is me exactly, we are getting an updated version of the 2010s. I will later go back and see the previous films and will probably get nostalgia from those times. I agree with every word written. :vegas:

I know it's not that type of film but, does it include music industry's negative behind the scenes(for example sexual harrassment to especially female singers, like Gaga said many many times)?

I’m assuming none of those themes are in this film because I think my source would have told me! But she didn’t so I can’t confirm or deny but damn that’s a great idea!

Thank you for the information. I’m sorry that some people are being rude as it was nice of you to come on here and share.

I’m just very happy because we seem to be hearing a lot of positive things about this film. :firega:

Yes but then Sam Smith runs onto the stage and snatches it out of her hands.

Well what you are telling us is basically what we have already known. So I guess my question is what smaller details there are that could be new and we havent yet known about? For example, I have a question of the role of willam  and shangela in the movie. Did they make the cut? How long are their bits? Im interested cause a very mainstream movie with these drag queens would be huge idk. Also, Dave Chapelle's role in the movie?

So my source said that the supporting roles in the film were okay but didn’t make a lasting impression and their purpose is to solely further and enrich Ally and Jackson’s story. Didn’t ask any specific questions about them I’m sorry 😐

Okay let’s not call someone rude for stating facts. You can’t expect us to believe everything after all those “my mom works at netflix” threads made that were proven to be fake. Also you literally did nothing to prove to us that this is legit.. aka you literally didn’t say anything that we didn’t already hear. Can you prove me wrong and say the name of a song that we never heard before? I’m sure out of 19 songs there is one we didn’t hear about. I’m sorry but I have hard time believing this. I’m not being rude or disrespectful, this is just real talk. I just don’t know why would you make this thread containing same info we already have.. :ohno:

I don’t blame you guys for the skepticism but I mean there’s a polite way to go about it. I personally haven’t heard the detail about how Warner Bros is having a hard time deciding which song to push for Best Original at the Oscars. Maybe that’s why there's rumored to not be a lead single.

Heres something she told me that I don’t think we’ve heard about yet - the scene from the trailer where she’s in the white shirt in the alley by herself is her singing “Look What I’ve Found”. There’s lots of small things and then also I wanted to reaffirm all the things we’ve heard previously.
