So before I even start, I will not provide any proof of what I’m posting because I had this conversation with a member of the media that I was told to with confidence. She gave me permission to post the information but her name or any proof cannot be included. So I’ve had a lengthy discussion with a member of entertainment media who has seen A Star Is Born, and I thought I’d share some of the details she told me. The film is very good, currently a major Oscar contender for Best Actor (Bradley), Best Actress (Gaga) and almost a definite lock for Best Original song. The studio hasn’t decided which song they’re going to push for this yet, but my source said they should push it for I Will Never Love Again. My source hasn’t seen a lot of award season film still upcoming tho so all of the Oscar predictions are tentative. She also stated that Gaga is very good in the film, a “perfect” role for her and she’s glad Gaga is so selective when it comes to her film roles. (She also did confirm Gaga was offered the role of The Huntress by Margot Robbie for the upcoming Comic book film Birds of Prey) She said the music all feels very timeless, as she was initially worried a country/rock route wouldn’t be the best, but is ultimately happy they went that route. BUT there are a few pop songs in the film, including Heal Me and How Do You Do That. Cinematography in this film is beautiful. I asked my source what her favorite scene and song were, and she told me her favorite song was actually performed in her favorite scene, which is the ending scene where Gaga is performing I Will Never Love Again, where her acting is particularly good and the selling point for her Best Actress Oscar nomination. Alright guys, I have to go back to work now, but feel free to leave any questions here and I’ll get to them later today, as I did leave out a lot of smaller details that she told me! So I guess my question is what smaller details there are that could be new and we havent yet known about? For example, I have a question of the role of willam and shangela in the movie. Did they make the cut? How long are their bits? Im interested cause a very mainstream movie with these drag queens would be huge idk. Also, Dave Chapelle's role in the movie?
