Neither of them may write the original structures of their songs the majority of the time, but Beyonce is at least known to be a skilled arranger, who knows a lot about composing and producing vocals, has trained in technique extensively, can compose many many layers of harmonies, etc. So I vote for Beyonce.

Beyonce literally made Lemonade her most personal album. I hardly believe she would do an album exposing Jay's dirty laundry and have someone else write the lyrics. 

She's not known as a songwriter, but that doesn't necessarily mean she is not writing any of her songs.

Umm no? I was just stating that Britney doesn’t write her own songs and neither do Rihanna and Beyonce. I’m not coming for any of these Artists, because they are all great in their own ways. Plus I am actually a Rihanna and Britney Stan. 

Yes I get what your saying. But Ok, but not every Artist is like that even though there are a handful that are. Madge, Katy, P!nk, Taylor and Miley actually write their own songs like Gaga. Just stating facts that’s all.

Both are good songwriters in different ways.

Beyoncé is better at verses and Rihanna is better at the chorus.

Yeah and Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra the Backstreet Boys, the 99% of the Motown roster of the 1960s and the Spice Girls, among plenty, plenty more acts, didn't write their own songs.

And on the latter, Victoria Beckham-aka Posh Spice- invalidates that group's writing credits simply by being a member of the group.

I get the impression that the general public at large assume that all singers write their own material and it's kind of unfair. Artists who write their own material should be given more credit. It's not so black and white, but there is a big difference between a singer and an artist.

I would say a difference between a recording artist, a singer and an artist.

The former is where I would list someone like Britney.  You can't call her a 'singer who can't sing live' if she's a recording artist, which can connote a multiplicity of interpretations.

Listen to Power of Goodbye, vogue, like a prayer, etc from her extensive and colorful discography. Don't eve compare her songwriting to 10th grade English class again. She was nominated to the Songwriters hall of fame.
