bionic 50,107
someone rates themselves highly can't stand his work. for every 1 good song he has 9 albums full of s--t ones
Kyle 345
David Guetta should NOT be commenting on artists not progressing.... everything he does is the exact same.
Samuel 3
I haven't read a page of this thread but I'm guessing it's the condescending tone he used to criticize BTW. He literally acted like he would have been the album's saving grace or something - so now he's butthurt and thrashing the album because he didn't get to be on it? His statements speak for themselves. I mean, he was disappointed in BTW as a result of his "deal" falling through... His comments are incredibly arrogantly worded (and delusional re: his own position in the business and talent), rude and sound like a kid who didn't get his cookie before dinner or a teenager throwing an emo tantrum about how amazing he is and people just don't see it. Look, it's not like he said something like, "I was a bit disappointed in the album, but I'm sure her next one is going to be really wild from what I've heard of it." or "I personally found BTW to be an effort of hers that wasn't up to par with her other work. But from what I've heard the next one will be crazy!". That would have been completely different. Of course opinions are fine and they all differ - it's just the way you phrase them that matters most. That's pretty much exactly what he said... He wasn't condescending, or rude, he just said he felt dissopointed with BTW, and he felt, had he been given the chance to work with her, they could have made something more up his street... Someone say's anything against this women, and we pounce on them like a bunch of hyenas'... Opinions are opinions, and nothing more... if anything I appreciated the fact he took the time to say how excited he is for her next release, and how much he likes her personally... Kfan 0
If he can openly slam the Born This Way era and then say that the new album is going to destroy, he must mean it.

Wow, that's missing the point completely. He did not say that at all. And forgo the derpga if you want to prove a point, will you? It adds nothing of substance to the discussion. Guetta did not state it that nicely or even remotely as politely as the sentence I wrote there. His tone was condescending towards her and he gave his opinion like it was truth only to come out and say he would've saved the day if he had worked on it with her. He literally said he could have done something amazing with Gaga for BTW and right after said that the album was "very disappointing". Make your own conclusions. He was acting like a petulant child. It's the tone that matters, and this wasn't polite or sensitive at all, hence the fiery reaction from people that you speak of.
Americano 31,061
The Born This Way record definitely disappointed in some spots. 'Bad Kids,' 'FOHL,' etc. were huge "what" moments.
gagarunner 0
guetta has 1 beat that he recycles over and over again. s-xy b---h, who's that chick, and where them girls at are all literally the same beat. seriously. BTW was nominated for a grammy for album of the year--yup real disappointing. :derpga:

He enjoys Gaga's music... he likes her, he's looking forward to her next record. Yeah he found BTW to be a disappointment... ok, let's all BUTCHER him for it... Seriously, did he bash Gaga? Did he actually say or do anything that was really all that offensive or rude about her personally???... And tbqh most people found BTW to be somewhat of a disappointment, just because the expectation was so unrealistically high... When she entertained the idea that she made an album to end albums.... I kinda believed her... and even though I LOVE Born This Way... it was in NO WAY the album of the decade... which is exactly what her fans were expecting... I don't interpret what he said as being condescending or rude, it's JUST an opinion.... like come on... most of my friends don't even like Gaga's music...
GHGUY 230
I think he just felt that GaGa could have moved forward musically/production-wise like she had with TF/M, BTW while lyrically brilliant, felt like a bit of a step back musically/production wise (with the exceptions of Judas, HML, Scheisse, EC, GH) If BTW had all of its songs have beats and synths found in Judas, HML, Scheisse, EC, GH, I think the general publicwould have responded much more positively and enthusiastically to the album
Miel 15,009
BTW was better than a lot of his new shtuff, imo. And with that, I'm not too keen on him saying the next record is gonna be crazy if he thinks BTW was disappointing, lol. 3 points in and ready for more

I didn't want/mean to imply otherwise. :) Sorry if I came across that way. I found his comments to be incredibly arrogant in tone as well in content - no, he wasn't attacking her personally but he was slamming her art in such a way he tried present himself like he was superior. And how many fans were disappointed with BTW has nothing to do with it - Guetta was talking about the album, not anyone else's response. Besides, the critical reception and BTW love from fans who didn't set a personalized, vague bar she was supposed to surpass just for them (not talking about you at all, just talking about the many people always coming up with random demands Gaga needs to fulfill for them ) was incredible. MermaidBoy 0
The Born This Way record definitely disappointed in some spots. 'Bad Kids,' 'FOHL,' etc. were huge "what" moments. I kind of agree with this. BTW is a HUGELY ambitious record. 90% of it works, 10% doesn't, but I still appreciate the moments that don't completely work. You have to applaud a record as ballsy as BTW was.
BornSimon 4,818
I don't think Guetta should judge other people's music. I am extremely happy Gaga has never worked with him. I guess Born This Way lacked some Pitbull and 10 generic dance songs, that's why he didn't like it. I'm not even sure I'm happy he likes the new record, to be honest. :noparty:

I think the problem with his statement is that he says the album was a disappointment but he would do an amazing job with her. Really? Born this Way is better and has more unique beats than his entire discography.
