JustHMLover 1,635
The Knocks have been putting in that work for New York City's funky dance music scene for more than a decade, and things are really starting to pop the hell off. For one, the good-time duo just landed a feature with Wu-Tang Clan's Method Man, which is just about one of the coolest nods you can get as a New Yorker. "Goodbyes" opens with a soulful sample tasty as backyard BBQs before jumping into a rhythmic bounce that The Knocks' JPatt positively rocks. It goes without saying that Mr. Tical delivers the perfect verse to fit the mood. When do you get party Meth like this? It takes The Knocks to make him groove this hard. "Goodbyes" follows boastful bass bump "Shades," and a real-cool collaboration with Foster the People called "Ride or Die." It just goes to prove The Knocks as one of modern dance music's coolest scene connectors. Want more? The Knocks announced a new album forthcoming called New York Narcotic, set for release Sept. 28. Peep the epic '90s artwork in the Instagram post below. These dudes just can't stop putting on for The Big Apple, and you can catch the victory lap on stage at this weekend's Billboard Hot 100 Festival, Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 18 and 19. Tickets are still on sale. - Billboard
