I know right?! I mean now WB act surprised and are worrying that the soundtrack could outshine the movie but Gaga was chosen to be the lead actress.... Of course Gaga is known to be a remarkable singer in the first place and they should have known that this could take the thunder away of her being an actress. If they wanted to focus more on the movie maybe it would have been better if they followed the original storyline of ASIB of an actress rising to fame and not a singer. At the end of the day, they changed the original plot from actress to singer. It doesn't make sense to do that and not give importance to the soundtrack before release. How many people do you think were sold the second they heard Gaga singing? If you go by online comments, so many people. I know their objective isn't soundtrack success, but what I'm saying is that a song or two before the movie's release could drive people to say "wow these sound great, maybe I'll go see the movie." And we all know the movie films all the songs live so what’s going on here? Does it means the actual songs with lyrics comes first for the filming and then they start to compose the instrumental music for all the sences that need back ground music? Considering there are 19 songs so I just curious how many lyrics songs and how many are only instrumantal. Could it be all the lyrics songs are actually 19 and the instrumental songs only come with the physical copy? But this makes no sense given it’s an original sound track. I think the 19 tracks will be songs, whereas the other 15 on the physical copy will be the score and some other additional recordings. And I agree with u that she may be not only in charge of the original songs, but also involved in making the score, which explains the muted orchestra videos she posted a while ago. Her albums are usually about 14 tracks so surely we will get about 14 solo Gaga tracks or maybe 12 + a few duets with Bradley and then maybe 5 Bradley solos.
