@StrawberryBlond I won't quote your comment because it's so long so I'll just tag you

I agree with what your saying about whites looking into their culture. I know Canada for example has a lot of original culture from when it was founded

But what I'm also saying is most of it has died. In the Country perhaps a lot of the old ways still have survived but in the cities where over 81% of the population lives most of the "Canadian Culture" is dead

Cuisines, music, fashion trends are all imported mostly. And our proximity to the US with such tight media (we share tv channels and even some radio stations) make modern culture extremely American not necessarily what Canada has evolved to but rather what the US evolved to

I know of a few things still around that you can say is pretty unique to Canada or some customs but original ways have pretty much died

Tbh I'm ok with it. I'm Canadian born but come from a Portuguese immigrant family. Almost everyone here is in immigrant, my lineage isn't even in the original Canadians even tho I'm Canadian

I care more about the culture of diversity now than what is original. To me it's fine. I still appreciate the odd old customs that have survived tho

Not all culture has to be original. It can be the most current thing in the world. Culture is a constantly shifting thing and it never stays completely the same and yes, it is influenced by outsiders, as is virtually all culture. Culture isn't just about age-old traditions, it's about the here and now. EazyOnMe, who's a Canadian YouTuber, said that when he thinks of Canadian culture, he thinks of all different things, from downtown Toronto to Montreal nightlife, drugs are a pretty big thing, Drake, The Weeknd, Justin Beiber, architecture, Gay Pride, etc. But then he added that when the alt right try to talk about Canadian culture, they're actually talking about things like the queen and that the alt right isn't doing anything to protect the real Canadian culture that he knows because it's not traditional enough for them. I think he's totally right. Culture is about so much more than tradition, it has to grow and modernise and I'm talking about protecting this modern culture as much as any traditional culture. Lord knows I want modern culture to survive as it's a defining factor of the West and is involved in pretty much everything I do in life.

I wonder where and how often you actually had face to face discussions about immigration with Japanese citizens? How many have you met in your life? You frequently heard this claim from them, is this really true? Or is this from another populist YouTube video? There are few false claims about Japan from the Western conservatives, so I’m just wondering... since you FREQUENTLY heard this. :oprah:

Not face-to-face but I have frequently heard these opinions aired in any published pieces about immigration and how it relates to the world at large, what policies non-Western countries have, what non-Western countries take in refugees, etc. You don't have to have face-to-face discussion to understand views. And no, it's not from populist YouTube videos. It's well-known that Asian countries are the least tolerant to newcomers, even the locals say it. I mean, just look up that survey that asked the entire world what they wouldn't want in a neighbour. Of the ones who answered "of another race," the majority of them were from Asia. This map shows it - the countries in shades of blue are the most accepting and those in shades of red are the least accepting. This may come from the Telegraph but this was reported by all sources - this was just the first I could find: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/10061025/Worlds-most-racially-intolerant-countries-mapped.html

White western countries have been the most accepting by far since the 21st century at least. We wouldn't have the immigration policies we did if we weren't. This is why, by comparison, most Asian countries are quite homogenic, because they don't have our generous politices and it is notoriously difficult to live in these countries if you don't know the language and don't know the culture because the majority will not be like you. I once saw a Cracked article from a white American man who claimed that he's been living in Japan for 12 years, speaks fluent Japanese, has a Japanese wife, works at a Japanese company, has Japanese friends and readily consumes every piece of Japanese culture...and yet, the locals who know him still refer to him as "the foreign guy." He didn't hold anything against them for this, he said it's just how it works when over 98% of a country is ethnically Japanese.

I agree with you and the concept of the “white western world” is inherently reactionary and never quite existed in the romanticized metaphysical context that the alt-right, reactionaries, neo-nazi, and whomever else believed it to be. There’s always been some kind of “diversity” or cultural exchange at some point or another. Japan is an example of the positives and negitives of that kind of tradition. I don’t think you have a full understanding of it but you seem to hit the nail on the head. The issue is the depopulation decrease, suicide rates, anti-social social atmosphere. It’s really interesting either way

What is your point. I’m not a fan or supporter of islam or saudi-Arabia  but I do honestly think most of your arguments  are more based in personal bias/sensationalism than any actual humanitarian concern. Jews in Williamsburg don’t want to “convert” people to Judiasm but do want the gen pop to follow their ideological laws. There’s multiple cases that are documented some also being filmed of Hasidic Jews assaulting women and lgbt individuals in Nyc. Bht it hasn’t done anything to affect the overall notion that Brooklyn ny is a progressive safe heaven. https://www.timesofisrael.com/5-hasidic-men-charged-with-assault-on-gay-black-man/

and most Christians ( including the Vice President of the US.).  believe in Christian laws being upheld on a state level.

So I don’t necessarily think I miss your point you’ve made your point pretty clear and have been making these points for a while so it’s nothing new or shocking.

Where did I say any of this is okay? :poot:

On one hand I agree kind of.

The current climate of "equality" translates to "not if you're a white male" which... well white 20-something males are facing brick walls... the same thing equality was meant to remove. It's not equal if it's sometimes.

You see, the fact is, a country cannot even admit to have its own culture, and even wanting to preserve it seems to be "nazi" or "far right".

The majority of the comments here just bash him because Canada doesn't own a culture because it's just a mix  of different populations etc... people, that's what a culture is.

And even worse, it's only when majority white, western countries like their own culture and want to preserve it that offence is caused. And make no mistake, it is only these countries who get called out for their shameful past by liberals, despite almost every other country on the planet having a past involving tyranny, wars, and injustice, especially to those who are different. It's madness that only white people are made to believe that they have to pay or repent for this all these centuries/decades later when the same is not expected of other races, as if they've never committed (and are still committing) atrocities. It's funny how you'll never see such liberals actually venturing out into these other countries that they cite as so tolerant and accepting of everyone. Deep down, they know the west gives them the most freedom, security, opportunities and tolerance and they're just bashing the west because that's what they've been led to believe is the "right" thing to do. No way is the west perfect but plenty of other countries do far worse and they're still proud of their culture and people on the whole, so where's the criticism towards them?

And you're right - the definition of culture is an idea that is dreamed up and then shared among people. If it hasn't been shared, it isn't a culture. Again, it's only majority white, western nations that get accused of not having a defined culture. It's quite disturbing how whites are made to feel like they have no identity and aren't allowed one. The idea is that the wider world is worried that when white people have an identity, it's tied into ideas of racism, ethnostates and genocide and just like anyone else with an identity, they will fight to the death to protect it. That's scaremongering of the highest order. Nazis are in very low supply and they struggle to gain members because (not everyone realises this) but Nazis, as well as any extremist alt-right group, have a lot more than white nationalism in their outlook. It's a completely traditional outlook on life - heterosexuality (they're very homophobic), marriage and children as the best thing you can do in life, female subservience to men (they're anti-feminist) and all-round conservatism. Because of this, even white nationalists are put off in this modern age. So, yeah, to act like all white people have the same agenda is nonsense. As I've said, phrases like "cultural preservation" only need to be dog whistles for the alt right if you want them to be. Most of us don't want them to be.

Mean I think the narrative that whites are perceived to having no identity is also disturbing too but now it’s a fully fledged brand that people cling on to. Constant psychological warfare it seems. There’s a lot to unpack in that statement though. I don’t reallt think the idea that white people wanting to indulge in their culture is a bad thing. But white culture isn’t that simple. I do think the way that other cultures have been extremely misrepresented and simplified in America is really a big issue though, like defining black people as African Americans. When the continent of Africa has varying cultural practices, genetic groups, and languages in the same way that Europe does. It’s the classic neo-liberal approach to idenity that most major media seems to cater to. It’s become it’s own culture to some extent.

I had a whole reply written and then the site went weird! I'll have to paraphrase as I don't have time.

No culture is simple and no culture can be simplified racially as there are huge nuances between them all, some radically different from others. What SJWs don't seem to get is that most white people don't base their identity on race but on nationality. That's why so many white Europeans can have tensions with each other. As a British person, we're 4 countries smooshed together, so of course there'll be differences and tensions and we also have issues with Ireland and France as well. It goes to prove that the idea of ethnostates could never work. Humans naturally find a way to divide and differentiate themselves and if it's not race, it'll be something else. It annoys me when white SJWs feign ignorance when it comes to their own culture, telling exaggerations and lies, in their attempt to prove that they're a "good ally." And yes, when I hear things like "this name/food/music/tv show is so popular in black culture," I'm aware that it's nearly always exclusively black American culture...and this doesn't seem to be realised by many. European blacks wouldn't connect and African blacks would have even less of a clue. It's a whole different world when you go elsewhere, but that's typical American culture politics - thinking you are the world. I've had Americans try to define Europe for me too, despite never going there. I took sociology and anthropoligy at university 10 years ago and I dread to think what it involves now. I've heard stories about the courses being very politically correct, white-bashing and catering to the liberal SJW agenda, complete with redifining racism as "only white people can be racist as only they have racial power." Mark my words, if this continues, dictionaries will start changing their definitions and then we'll have no leg to stand on. In an American college, students started a march where they shouted: "Hey hey, ho ho, these racist teachers have got to go!" and even disrespectfully shouted it in the professor's face. And it was all for no reason. These teachers had never been accused of being racist. They were targeted purely because the marchers thought there were too many white teachers (in a white majority country, imagine that!) Again, it's only in white majority countries where a majority race causes offence. This criticism is not aimed at the most homogenic countries in the world like Japan and Nigeria. Why? Because it's ok to have a majority race, so long as it's not white!
