Her whole career is relied on producers and songwriters, the only thing she has to worry about is 'looking pretty'; the girl doesn't write, produce, play instruments and can't sing or dance.

I mean, she's unproblematic, stays in her lane, and love her attitude, but in no way did she have the same impact as Gaga, and others

We are not discussing impact but relevancy and public appeal.

She’s the safest pop girl ever, even safer than Taylor. And she turned urban when it was cool

I love Rihanna and I hope she'll be remembered as an icon BUT it's not a given that icons have to be "well-received". A controversial or hated person can become an icon too.

I agree. She has hits, versatility, she's a fashion icon, 14 number ones, VOTY twice, everyone loves her, she's never had a flop album, We Found Love was a huge part in starting the EDM trend of 2011-2013, she's about to become the first black female with a solo diamond single, and even though she's not a songwriter, she co-wrote every song on ANTI, unlike certain pop icons who have one songwriting credit (looking at you, Whitney).

The icon who can't write songs :selena:

Would you consider Whitney an icon?
