Yall dropping here We Found Love as Riris most recognizable song when everybody knows Diamonds whether they live the song or hate it smh

OT: I feel like Gaga's past hits have this old timey feeling to it and that's what makes them more iconic. When you say Bad Romance everybody knows it and pictures the video cause it's that iconic... Also here in Europe I feel like Alejandro is iconic as well, I went to pick up my mom from a party couple of months ago and mind you her and her friends are all over 55 and they were bopping to it hard when I came and they all knew the lyrics :ladyhaha: some of them don't even speak English:toofunny:

+ to Alejandro, it's super loved and well remembered in Russia as well :vegas:

so would you say that I am biased if I think that Gaga's hits are more iconic than her contemporaries' hits?

Actually a lot of her contemporaries have pretty iconic hits as well. I'd say Gaga's most indisputably iconic songs are Bad Romance and Poker Face (maybe BTW also). The rest is debatable especially for the GP.

its all about catchiness like "p p p poker face p p poker face mo mo mo mo" or "ra ra ra a a ro ma ro ma ma ga ga  u la la" is more catchy than "We found love in a hopeless place" or "California girls we're unforgettable"

yep, I agree. you don't have to know the language to sing along to PF or BR - that's how these songs appeal was boosted globally.

name one Katy or Rihanna song that a middle-aged (40-50 years old) person, say, from Russia would be able to name instantly who it is sung by.

while Bad Romance or even Poker Face are way better remembered and recognizable if you compare songs this way. most people of almost all ages from around the world know that Bad Romance is a Lady Gaga song.

Skskks I doubt most middle aged persons from Russia will know BR or PF. or know who sang it.

well I live and have lived in Russia my whole life so I guess I'm a little bit better informed on what Russians know or don't know in general :vegas:

they were super successful in terms of sales and were played everywhere, I agree, but do they stand a chance against Bad Romance?

Like everyone knows Bad Romance (they at least remember "rah-rah" part) and that it is by Lady Gaga because of the unique sound and imagery, but would a random person in a distant country know who sings Diamonds or Work? :trollga:

That's what I'm talking about :bon:

Specially those two, yes:trollga:
