Why Don't People Talk About Dope?

I can understand since it's a devastating song to listen to but I believe her vocal performance to be even more raw than TIHTY and I can honestly relate to it (not with drugs or alcohol but with other addictions). I think it is such an amazing pure raw emotion ballad that is a standout of pure musical talent in her discography. What do you guys think of Dope? Are you still salty that it replaced IWBWY?

I love Dope and I don't get why people hate it so much. It's one of her best ballads and her vocals are just gutwrenching to listen to.

I don’t know. It is such a great song. I like it more than I Wanna Be With You. IWBWY is sweet, but the lyrics are :laughga:.

It's one of my favorite songs from her, definitely. It was definitely hard to listen to for a few years, though, because of how emotionally raw it is.

I know I am definitely temperamental and a little delusional about it, but most stans that hate it really have questionable taste.

I'm not salty it replaced IWBWY because it is IWBWY with different lyrics... :derpga:

I think we don't talk about it because we cry about it instead :diane:

I prefer the live versions more like the Alan Carr performance:firega:

The album version sounds kinda off....like with Speechless too, she just sings her songs better live, obviously.

It’s just not for me. I don’t go listening to sad songs when life already makes me sad enough.

It’s honestly one of my favorites of hers. The production is *phenomenal*, it’s so delicate and well-timed and conservative. The emotion and lyricism and vocals shine most — Rick Rubin really knew what he was doing with that. The lyrics are very unique and heartbreaking while still being very Gaga. And her vocal performance is among her best. It’s not pretty. So I get why someone may not like it, but it’s not supposed to be. It’s so well-placed in the album for that very reason. After rushing rushing rushing, she hits a wall and everything is quiet and she’s alome with all the thoughts she was chasing away with partying and carelessness. Plus, it’s so indicative of the ARTPOP era. She broke.

Because only a small percentage of the fans like it. :huntyga:

What’s funny is that almost everyone who posted here likes it. :ladyhaha:
