He won with 43% of the vote. Three million fewer raw votes than Clinton. Fewer raw votes than Romney in 2012.

The last time the loser of the popular vote won we got *checks notes* George W. Bush and the Iraq War.

It's a good system we have.

Meruk Holland

We've been knew since he held that flag for that photo op.

LGBTs for Trump didn't vote for him because they thought he'd be better for the LGBT*. That whole group was just obsessed with tying the fact that they were LGBT and the fact that they were supporting him.

*And for any LGBT who thinks that Trump or the majority (if not all) of the Republicans are better for LGBT rights is delusional and are actively avoiding facts.

More importantly the conservative judges he put on the supreme court and lower courts would vote against gay marriage and even to criminalize gay sex.

Yeah but that's democracy in general in many Nations

We got the same thing here in Canada. The popular vote and who wins can also be at odds in our parliamentary system which dozens of Countries use

But in the US we directly elect our head of state so that doesn't really apply.

Our congress is more analogous to your parliament. And even then, we only have two parties. There's no chance at a coalition government because one party will always control at least 51% of either chamber.
