Pink was in 'excruciating pain' and 'couldn't breathe'. Reschedules shows.

More details have been revealed following Pink's medical emergency, which forced the pop star to postpone four concerts at Sydney's Qudos Bank Arena this week.

The 'Try' singer was in "excruciating pain" and "couldn't breathe" when she was rushed to hospital on Monday night, according to her longtime promoter, Michael Coppel, who leads Live Nation in Australia.

On Sunday, the Grammy winner was admitted to hospital and given "a couple of bags of saline infusion" for dehydration and then released.

But the 'Get This Party Started' singer grew gravely ill on Monday afternoon around 3.30pm, just as she was set to soundcheck at the venue, and was rushed to Sydney's St Vincent's Hospital.

"She suffered very serious attacks," Coppel said. "She couldn't breathe and was doubled over in pain and had to be taken to hospital in an emergency ambulance."

Doctors were able to diagnosis her with a gastric virus, and she remained hospitalised until Tuesday night.

Some fans, many who had travelled long distances, had become distraught over Monday's last-minute cancellation, but Coppel said the star "wasn't waiting to see if and when she would be able to perform" when she became ill, and that each person responds differently to a viral infection.

He said that Pink is still "quite weak" but is committed to giving fans the best show she can when she returns to stage on Saturday, August 11.

"This is not a show you can do unless you are 99.9 per cent match ready and she's not there yet so we will give her this week to recover."

I hope she's doing okay. Being a fan of Gaga seeing her experiences with that, I would never want to wish that upon any performer.
