Does self-declared feminist Beyonce NOT ask simple questions, like “are my clothes made in sweatshops?” or does she just ask “can i sign the cheque?”

This woman is literally profiting tens of millions off an image of being woke, of being a hero to women, especially women of colour.

What is this world? A joke. Keep praising her as a superhero though, Navy. Keep your head in the sand.

And Gaga doesn’t use sweatshops for clothes she promotes for merch or the example above from Macys? Come on.

We need to be critical of both.

Seems like trying to make Beyoncé fall is the new trend :nails:

Love that this is all being focussed on Beyoncé as a person being an evil business women whipping her slaves into submission. The smear continues. Also the fact that there are hundreds of other clothes companies doing this and Ivy Park is getting all the coverage because its a bigger target and ran by a female.

It's because of the hypocrisy.

But do you buy clothes made from sweat shops?

Exactly. Also, own an iPhone (or other phone), laptop, makeup etc.

Instead of dragging people for their ethical standards why not 1) Look at your own 2) Spread awareness of brands that have better ethical standards.

Hypocrites.

Honestly if we want to play this game, many big brands are doing the same thing or even worse.

If you use Apple devices, you should know that the Chinese workers are paid cheaply and there are some who actually committed suicide because of pressures.

This is a difficult situation. If we want to bring justice, we will likely gonna have to stop to use a lot of things from various brands in our daily lives and we may be get out of options cos all that's available will be pricier because the labor is higher than those in Asia and more places.

change the thread title cus nowhere does it say beyonce "supports" this

if she doesn't write her own albums, what makes ya'll think she runs her own businesses

that aside, yes they should stop using sweatshops

Mother f*cking bullsh*t, dude.

She put her name on in. She is responsible. Not caring enough to know where your clothes are being made is JUST as bad as supporting sweatshops, and it’s effectively the same.

It’s not like Beyoncé is the only celebrity where her clothes are made from a sweatshop...

No matter who else is doing this (other clothes brands, other celebrities, etc.) it does not make this any less inconsionable. Someone who is so in tune with the plight of women around the world, they should care if they’re using sweatshop labor.

the title is severely misleading though because ivy park made the response, not beyonce

i'm not giving her a free pass but this website loves to bash beyonce so they will twist any little story to demonise her

No one is saying that it’s okay for Ivy park to do that. People are calling out the hypocrisy in the fact that we’re supposed to be upset only when Beyoncé does it but turn a blind eye to everyone else who uses sweatshops for our products.

But it’s a rumor that’s been around since 2016 and it is clearly fake.

All clothing companies use sweatshops and the article even says that. That isn't the point of the article. The writer is talking about how it contradicts her "female empowerment" thing that she claims to stand for.

Everyone uses sweatshops. The clothes you’re wearing right now was most likely made in a sweatshop. The cheap furniture some people have was most likely made in a sweatshop. Let’s not start cherry picking.

You missed the point of the article.
