It’s cool to not give a f*ck and just like her... at least that’s how being “cool” works in your twenties.

My friend group is all straight guys and I’ve got them into some Gaga, Kylie, Madonna and Cher :rip:

To some people it's been lame since mid/late 2010 when Gaga get more vocal about LGBTQ+ rights. Like, some kids got to school and actually got laughed at that they enjoyed Gaga's music. Or even bullied cos they will take you automatically as gay person bevause of that.

But there are many more who enjoyed her tbh.

Well whenever it's revealed that I like Gaga, they're not surprised coz I'm gay :green: however, the straighties always say that she either has a nice ass or she is good looking so :green:

“I stan Lady Gaga”

”so you’re gay.”

”No I just really-“

”gay.”

:triggered: They use gay as if it’s an insult and it really gets on my nerves, so now I don’t even bother telling people that I stan Gaga.

It has become cool to like her again since she started getting critical appeal back after ARTPOP (when everyone wanted to hate her) and showcasing her talents.

In general, people seem to think it's cool to hate on pop and that's been the case forever. Many people in the GP now think Gaga is above pop and don't place her among pop artists.

Also, no matter how uncool it becomes, I'll always tell Gaga:

I love the songs that you play and I don't care what they say, cause I was born this way.

She is kind of like Britney tbh - lame to P4K types, but one of the greats to pop music lovers. Though I think Brit is more liked now to ~cool~ types because she is unabashedly uncool, whereas Gaga is in this middle ground.

I think it was definitely cool to like her when she was at her peak.

Post-BTW, unfortunately, she kinda became a "gay" artist and I think a lot of people shied away from outwardly liking her because of the stigma that came with liking her. It's awful that that happened, and ARTPOP then made it cool to outwardly dislike her.

Since then, however, I think she's attained a weird status where she really is kinda indie. In the same way that a lot of people take pride in liking their favorite indie bands, I think a lot of people recognize that Gaga is a legitimately quality artist who isn't solely the wigs and the meat dress and the dead muppets.

I think nowadays, with her voice now recognized, it's once again cool to like Gaga without a stigma attached to it.

This kind of reminds me of this article I read a while back that discussed how strait-forward bubblegum & dance pop has become more of a niche market now, comparing pop stans to indie record store types.

I was literally called a basic b*tch for liking Lady Gaga last night :ladyhaha: it was in a joking way

but I seriously have no idea what the GP feels towards Gaga bc my perception is so biased and shrouded in obsession

It's not lame anymore. In 2012-2014 it was VERY lame and probably embarrassing.

Today, she is respected and considered the real deal. It's not lame, but it's also no cool.

I feel like there's less judgement and hate about liking her now compared to before.

No, if you think about it, everyone thinks that liking things that they do not personally prefer is rather lame and can pick on one about it. We all in the end learn to just like what we truly like, no shame. Gaga is a great person.

The future's uncertain and the end is always near.

Many people keep asking me why I'm such a fan of Gaga as her music wouldn't be that good. But for me it isn´t only her music I love, its just Gaga herself. She's such an inspiration and really the artist of our time.

She has stopped being “lame” in the GP’s eyes, i guess it’s neutral, and Gaga needs one more push until she gets that “wow Gaga queen I stan” from the GP like Bey and Rihanna has going on.

When i see someone listening an artist whose name is not even on spotify, i never think she/he is lame. I just praise her/him for searching and finding that good music. and feel sad for myself that there are lots of other good songs- artists that I have yet to find.

and unfortunately I was seen lame for liking Lady Gaga. For most of the GP she is just a woman wearing meat dress. and i was just too shocked do you know why?

Not only for music, for everything some people think they know the good of everything. They will never find more beauty because of this attitude. Maybe if they try to see or give a chance to listen Lady Gaga, they can find the beauty, darkness in her music. Her artistry.

I've seen tons of people who consider Harry Potter as childs book and laugh if you read them. but I only feel sad for them cos' its an amazingly well-written masterpiece. One misses just too much of a good time by not reading it.

no. in US or some parts of Europe she can be considered the real deal because we catch up with what she does, Joanne, Superbowl etc. and change the way we think. But all around the world people haven't heard from her since 2012 and they only remember that. If what she puts is not so big, world press and tv does not show it.
