Queen Gloria 3,464
Hey y'all, I like to share my creations as a retrowave/funk/synthpop artist with you guys. I'm fighting to get recognition in the music industry and trying to get my name out there. it can be a struggle but I'm not giving up. I have issues with my mixing and other things I'm not skilled with technically, but I'm hoping someday my storytelling and enthusiasm will inspire someone at a label to give me a chance to prove myself. I'm a fan of artists like The 1975, Pale Waves, Duran Duran, Paramore, Whitney Houston, Grace Jones, Kate Bush, Earth Wind & Fire, ELO, Fleetwood Mac, ionnalee, Daft Punk, Breakbot, Prince, Michael Jackson, Gaga (obviously), HAIM, Blondie, Chromeo and Kylie Minogue. I was on this 80s bop hype train since the early 2000s in middle school, it just so happens that people like Bruno Mars have brought it to the mainstream in recent years. Cheers
JazzGa 14,623
OMG this bops!! Do you produce yourself too? The production is really good, although I think the melodies don't come through strongly enough. I see what you mean about mixing problems. What you need to do is get out there and perform. How often do you play live? My old cat is a tough man, but i cant deny the way he bites my hand and he stabs me, he grabs me by my heart <

How often do you play live? Hey, yeah I write, produce and record everything myself. My only problem is I don't really know the technical side of things. I'm more into the creative side of things, lol. I'd rather have someone else producing while I write/sing, but I do what I can. But thank you so much, that's another problem - I live in a small town where there are literally no places to perform and I doubt anyone around here would be interested. Right now the internet is my biggest chance but I'm not gaining much recognition. I'd even be happy doing something like Gaga did and starting by writing for others, if that's what it takes. Disco/funk is here to stay. It still connects with so many generations, there's a reason. It's very heartfelt, emotional music. 22 hours ago, hoeslay said: WERK. Love it sis!
