I haven't seen many videos of Troye but from what I have seen he acts in an effete/feminine manner. I think that's the reason why he's not liked by the GP as much as Sam is. Sam predominantly sings about love and break-up songs and even straight people can relate to his visuals and music whereas Troye has this really feminine vibe around him that the GP may not like that much. It's just like how gay people prefer to have masculine partners instead of feminine ones. I wouldn't call it homophobia, it's just a preference.
