I think the Madonna situation was blown out of proportion

I don't know. I respect Madge for the contributions she did to music industry, but it has left a bad taste in mouth not that shade but the MULTIPLE shades she's done to Gaga (many users already pointed them out). I don't resent them, but it kind of disappoints me how she handled the comparitions by not only putting down another succesful female artist but also putting down someone who used to deeply admire her and respect her (not saying that Gaga doesn't respect and/or admire Madge anymore, but she clearly is not one of her principal inspirations nowadays). I can't imagine my favs doing that to me, If Gaga or Mariah did that to me, I wouldn't be able to leave my house for weeks, and be there, crying in a corner.

oh right yeah I knew the other stuff but not that she still said things, I just remember after all that like a few years later she said she likes gaga and it was just that song thing that she wasn't a fan of or something to that effect

The fact she brought up Madonna multiple times in 5F2 shows it is something that is always at the back of her mind. I can't imagine how crushing it must have felt to be mocked by someone you've looked up to your whole life.

I really don't see it as Madonna having any sense of fun about the situation but moreso trying to use a Gaga backlash to her advantage in reaching a younger demographic and trying to convince them that shes the real icon to be looking out for. everything she did in promotion for mdna that involved dragging gaga through the mud knowing the whole world was looking to her for a final word was the opposite of having a bit of fun with it lol

She mentioned her like twice, as always the media saw that she barely even mentioned her and ran with it in promotion for the film to get people to be like "oh look shes talking about her". And even so, tbh I think its such a laugh that anyone tries to act like Gaga needs to take a chill pill when by comparison to Madonna using trashing Gaga as promotion for an album and even going on an international tour performing her song with a medley of "shes not me" and trashing her fans with the backdrop...gaga has barely ever said a damn thing about the situation. I feel like aside from her 2013 howard stern interview, she never even bluntly mentioned her name before 5F2. So for either her haters or even her own fans trying to shade her for barely even mentioning madonna at all in a documentary about her in which of course the madonna controversy should come up, is kind of dumb. because the truth is, the comparisons to madonna were a staple in her career from her come up and its just apart of its fabric. its never going to go away. the least she could do is embrace it.
