Will Gaga have another Oscarworthy role?

So we all know how tremendous the Oscar buzz for A Star Is Born and Gaga is, if you didn't know, check this thread out I made a while ago.

I'm not sure if you have noticed this but most actors who get nominated for Academy Awards or Emmy Awards will strive to get nominated again with their future work, it's almost as if once you get nominated, you're acknowledged for life, you're forever referred to as an 'Academy Award nominee' or 'Emmy Award nominee', and if you work hard enough, with the right people, in the right project, you will easily be acknowledged by the academy than those newcomers who haven't been recognised before. It's almost like you have the key to the party and the academy feels comfortable and justified by recognising your work, rather than perhaps recognising that of a newcomer.

Which makes me think Gaga will strive to secure future movie roles which are Oscarworthy, rather than a role in a movie blockbuster but with no awardworthy substance. If you know Gaga well enough you'll know that she would probably prefer movies with substance rather than 'a cool role in an action film' that will be forgotten in a few years.

Here comes the point:

I was thinking about this and I'm just not sure if filmmakers would ever cast Gaga again in an Oscarworthy role. Most actors would need to work their way up to be recognised by the Oscars whereas Gaga is already getting major Oscar buzz for her first major movie role. The Oscar favourites today like Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling have starred in smaller roles before they are invited to the Academy Awards, these actors have a huge filmography to convince filmmakers to cast them.

Bradley needed someone who could sing to star in A Star Is Born, hence he cast Gaga instead of Hollywood actresses like Jennifer Lawrence, in fact Beyonce was rumoured to star in the film. I'm saying Gaga's ability to sing well (he was in the audience when Gaga delivered the Sound of Music tribute performance) contributed much to her casting. I'm actually extremely grateful to Bradley for taking a chance at her because truthfully he didn't know if she could act or not.

The thing is Gaga is not gonna make musicals forever, if she wants to be a full-fledged actress she needs to show the public that she can play whatever role that is given to her, and not just restricted to musicals. The critical reception regarding her acting in ASIB needs to be very positive, she needs to get nominated for Best Actress both at the Golden Globes and Oscars, for filmmakers to be willing to take a chance at her in future movie roles. It would also give Warner Bros and Bradley more confidence in collaborating with her again in the future.

“she needs to get nominated for Best Actress both at the Golden Globes and Oscars, for filmmakers to be willing to take a chance at her in future movie roles.” a lot of actors are doing many movies without a single award lol I think filmmakers will look more at the box office and see if she is a draw or not. Of course getting noms is a plus, but it’s not a determining factor. A lot of Oscar winning actors are doing nothing aswell...

I'm talking about pushing Gaga to the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, Saoirse Ronan,

not Tom Cruise or Dwayne Johnson.

Let’s wait and see how her first potentionally Oscar nominated role turn out to be.

Right now the media is pointing to the direction of YES.

My selfish heart wants her to only act every 3-5 years. I really prefer getting LG6 LG7 LG8 LG9 LG10 and tour the album over being able to see her in a movie every year. So I still want her to be Lady Gaga instead of Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone etc.

Yeah me too actually. I wouldn't want her to sacrifice music for movie roles but we know she wouldn't do that.

She filmed A Star Is Born and American Horror Story while making new music, so it's always possible that she deliver both.

 who knows.

Her forte is def. music tho so I'm hoping for more music than acting. If she ever becomes better at acting than singing tho I'm ready for her to steal meryl streep's designated nomination spot every year :whitney:

I want her to act every 3-5 years just so it would be an event every time and not just quick lil flicks. And it has to be spot on everytime

Lord Temptation

I would love it if she did only ONE film in each genre. So with ASIB she has ticked musical off the list. Next I want to see her in a mystery thriller (David Lynch style :staymad:), then an action flick (but NOT a superhero film, I’m so sick of those :saladga:), perhaps then an animated film and then maybe a historical epic fantasy :messga:

If she does the same role twice Hollyweird will typecast ha and not offer ha any more unique roles :huntyga:

EDIT: I forgot comedy :cryga:, I really want her to be in a really good comedy like The Hangover or something equally gross out funny and unexpected :v:

Obviously I’m talking about the next 10+ years. She has to focus on ha music first and foremost, LG6 LG7 and so forth :wtfga:

If she ever does win an Oscar I'd be very scared for her. She'll face a lot of backlash and criticism purely for being a popstar. I hope so though

I don't think she's gonna win it. Unless her role surprises the world in a good way, I don't see her winning it.
