America's obsession with guns, probably, comes from the fact our country was the last to be invade- I mean, settled and colonized. Well one of the last. So everyone living here had to have guns. EVERYONE. Because everything was a threat. Native Americans, burglars, the British for a time. These threats continued even as we grew older as a nation. It doesn't help we have like a proviolence rational. Most people are taught to fight, never run or talk it out. I think another thing is that America isn't connected like Europe. Europe has trains everywhere. You're never that far from civilization. In America, it's entirely possible to be hours away from even a Walmart. So people in the boonies don't feel safe. Another thing is that we also really glamorize guns and rarely show the truth about guns in media. Guns are basically American lifeblood.
