Anything can happen or nothing at all

Vivendi want to sell part of UMG because their stocks have been falling, so they need someone to co-owned UMG and throw money to maintain it. Otherwise it will collapse.

If some corporations eventually co-owned it, they will have rights to do executive orders on UMG and all artists under it, whatever that may be. Plenty of things. They can barred music by UMG artists from Spotify and only make it available on their own streaming service, they can kick out some artists that is not profitable but cost so much to keep, they can kill or merge sub labels under UMG to cut the cost, they can also be more strict with copyrights on UMG artists, (example, giving regular YouTube users or twitter or facebook, etc some copyright strikes or got their account terminated for using music by their artists without permission for their fanmade videos or whatever),  and many many many more.

I think nothing will change maybe some different sponsors...

"UMG’s sale process will likely be completed within the next 18 months" hopefully Gaga will release LG6, start Vegas residency and release C3C within the same time :poot:

So Interscope is safe if anything happens... I guess:poot: Drake, Gaga, and friends are huge artists

@ViviLittleM @monketsharona What do you think about this? You know more about these type of things right? (I think :poot:)

Hopefully it will help Gaga in France (at least), here she kind of disappeared since Applause / DWUW

Understanding Vivendi's strategy is impossible. That conglomerate had such a large control of global media 10 years ago and now it keeps shredding it. Oh well. This doesn't really mean a whole lot.

It disappeared of the charts in two weeks...

Honestly here they only played PI few times in the first week, MR a bit for a game on NRJ and never played The Cure.

Though she's still played for her old hits like Paparazzi, Poker Face, Just Dance, Bad Romance, Alejandro.

So it won't be owned by Vivendi anymore ? If it's the case, good.
