I remember back in 2010-2012 when everyone was licking Gaga's b***h*** lmao it's the same thing now, and let's be thankful that the GP is acting like that towards Bey and not some awful rapper. I just don’t see the argument against Beyoncé not needing it because of her popularity When people are more popular that gives them more magazine covers because magazines need to sell so they want larger stars of the moment on it so it’s a win-win for the celebrity and the magazine. Gaga was on every magazine cover a few years ago but that’s the point of popularity and using it to promote to the high heavens to get whatever you’re doing at the moment out there to as many people as you can Same happened with Adele’s September issue, it was huge and we can all argue that she didn’t need it because she was already selling amazingly, but why not use such a big promo spot to get even more spotlight on your work and why would Vogue want to pass on the opportunity of having some of the biggest current names gracing their cover? They have everything to gain, and it’s all multiplied when it comes to the September issue
KingRedd 3,139
I just came to see the synthetic monsters get dragged and that was accomplished... OT: I’m excited to see how it all plays out. Gaga is better off taking the October issue anyway. It’ll be her face everywhere in promo from tv spots to magazine covers. May I Read You? 😎
GypsyBabe 22,836
I very much wanted Gaga to get the September issues cover because it is so big, but the October cover makes more sense and will come out a couple weeks (maybe more) before ASIB. Gaga is an icon, so she will get the September issue someday (I hope). ⚯͛

Miel 15,009
While I wish Gaga got the cover, I would rather have Beyonce get it if that meant getting the first Black photographer ever to shoot the cover. Like... Jesus, fashion industry. 3 points in and ready for more

Mr S 8,672
I wanted LG of course but if Bey is giving an opportunity to a POC for the first time then I support this choice instead. However, I think it's lame she isn't giving an interview. What she did is incredible, but how about speaking up and articulatting why this is important etc

StrawberryBlond 14,861
While it's great that she's going to give exposure to a young black photographer (first time, Vogue, really?) does she have to make a song and dance about not just that, but about her entire presentation? You know, people would be a lot more accepting of black people if their emancipation agenda wasn't shoved down our throats in such a pretentious way. Contrary to what they might think, white people don't think they're gods and goddesses when they put other whites on covers. We're just photographing subjects, it's not a show of racial superiority. But the trend right now seems to be to make black celebrities appear god-like in their art as some sort of kickback to the supposed "white supremacy" that white celebrities display. Newsflash - whites are just living their lives like blacks are, most of don't think we're racially superior. But because there's more of us in majority white countries, of course we're going to feature more in media. It doesn't mean we think we're superior, it's just reality to see more of us about. Seriously, I'm a feminist and proud but I don't bleat on about it every time I get the chance. I find the best way to make people aware of an unjust women's issue is to just drop a statement or fact and let it hang there, don't say anything about it. I've seen how it makes people think. But lecturing them about the patriarchy for half an hour instead just gets them annoyed. I wish this is the same tack that would be taken with any black acceptance movement. Stop lecturing, stop being pretentious, stop shoving your racial agenda in people's faces. Just air the facts and let them speak for themselves. I miss the days when people didn't clout you over the head with their beliefs and people approached race relations from the view of we should all be equal instead of promoting borderline POC supremacy. 21 hours ago, Thomas P said: I mean she’s doing something for the good of a minority community, but go off. Doing good for a minority community is all well and good but it doesn't make someone immune to criticism. I miss the days when you could critique a black person in the same way that you'd critique a white person without being called racist. 12 hours ago, Anveeroy said: And to the users who are very surprised about the racist, anti comments I just want to say: Please don't be so surprised. Not all people have political knowledge. Most of them are very young or live in a denial. Their rational comments are just a reflection of their privilege, most importantly their supreme superiority. I don't know the specific ones you're referring to but I don't think any issues the majority have is with her using a black photographer or doing a pro-black shoot. It's how she's going about it. Terms like "pro black" and "black excellence" just seem, to me at least, counter-productive for a black emancipation movement. We should all look at ourselves as equals, but encouraging a love for non-white races in a way that is highly disapproved of when whites do the same, helps nothing. You can have love for your race without suggesting that whites are less than. Unity and empathy is where it's at. 11 hours ago, Borislshere said: You are embarrassing at this point. You claim to be so sick of hearing about Bey yet you enter literally every thread about her. This obsession you have with someone you claim to not like isn’t okay. You act as if Gaga still couldn’t have the October issue which would make more sense seeing as that’s when the movie comes out. And don’t get bold talking about the hive as if Monsters are some saints when monsters hate on any artist currently more successful than Gaga. And then you have the audacity to call bey and the hive pretentious?? As if monsters don’t shame every artist who uses the help of song writers?? Lmao bye. I know you weren't speaking to me but please don't shame people for simply getting out their frustrations. Verbalising things helps me deal with them better than bottling them up, as it does for many others. The world would be boring if we all thought the same and were nicey-nice. And what's wrong with bringing up "artists" who use ghostwriters? Artists create, singers just sing, very important distinction.
