This theme has been explored before—Amy Winehouse’s Stronger Than Me, for example. Also I don’t think Katy’s main goal (at that time anyway) was to be an LGBT icon—girl just wanted to make good music (which she did). She wrote songs that she wanted to write. Not everything/everyone has a secret agenda to either promote/destroy the LGTB... It's not a satire though, it's from a perspective of an angry girlfriend - herself

But what you don't seem to get is that Gaga isn't offending anyone, meanwhile Katy wrote a diss track about her effeminate ex-boyfriend, "That song is about a specific guy that I used to date and specific issues that he had. The song is about my ex wearing guyliner and taking emo pictures of himself in the bathroom mirror. The listeners have to read the context of the song and decide for themselves." If I was to use gypsy to describe a lifestyle were I don't have a home because I'm always traveling from town to town, from city to city, then it's NOT offensive yes it is bc it's connected to harmful stereotypes that Romani people have rejected and are offended by, it's like using the word fag to describe someone that fits the gay stereotypes regardless of their sexuality. this is the state of grace, this is the worthwhile fight

No that's different. In the song Gypsy, Gaga describes her life being 'homeless' since she is touring from city to city and country to country. She is NOT offending anyone When Nicki Minaj said to a gay man "suck a **** you fag" she used the word to harm him. Gypsy is only offensive of Gaga were to call ALL Romani people gypsies, which she has never ever done. Stop being offended by every little thing End Racism Now

Stop being offended by every little thing She still used the word, if she had a song named after the N-word y'all would use another excuse. And don't tell me that "the n-word is worse than the g-word" bs bc there's not a ranking of which word is more offensive than the other. They're all offensive in different ways for ffs. The thing is Gaga didn't have any intention to offend, but she used an offensive word and never apologized. Period. It wasn't her intention to harm anyone, but that doesn't mean she's completely not responsible for her actions as an adult. How about y'all accept the song IS problematic and stop putting celebrities in a pedestal this is the state of grace, this is the worthwhile fight
