Just listened to it for the first time ever

I beg to disagree :huntyga: It's actualky pretty clever since it points out all the common things homosexuals are said to like/do/think etc. or that many actually think they have to like/... .

Plus it's just a fun song and it's pretty boppy :music:

Ur So Gay is not a bop and its her worst song. :huntyga:

OT : the original cover of OOTB is still better imo.

Ur so gay wasn't made to be clever it was more like "you don't conform to the hetero standards therefore you're gay", it's as childish as it can get, aka a version of someone calling you a ******* for the way you look. She kept the same attitude in Hot N Cold too and only "explored bicuriosity" in I Kissed A Girl in a form of a straight male fantasy/fetish.

There's a reason LGBT never fully embraced her as a role model.

Everyone is so vexed about Ur So Gay :toofunny: I'm gay, and still call things that aren't homosexual gay (would you believe?!?!?) and I think the song is witty and sarcastic and it's mildly-offensive tone is what makes it funny, much like many comedians y'all probably like. I feel me and Katy share the same humour tbh, I find myself saying jokes similar to ones she has come under fire for (Britney 2007 etc.)... oh well

I never said that. I think the song  points out all the stereotypes about the homosexuals. Just that.

I think that to fully express your personality you should never feel the need to belong to any category or stereotype, but many many people actually belongs to those "categories" the song points out. In this way it's a clever song, because many actually fits the description katy sings - and since I hate categorization/stereotyping I like the song. It's not pro-stereotyping, it's against, it says "you don't have to be like that just because you're gay".

The song itself is a f***ing satire, yet I have no idea why all of you take it so seriously. It’s literally about a girl whose boyfriend is more feminine than she is... which is humorous within itself. All she does is name all the ways in which he “outdoes” her, cleverly I may add.

All this sensitivity over a song is just unnecessary. I’m a fan of any song that can join satire, lyrical rawness, honesty, and catchy sound together. Lily Allen has done it on her first 2 albums, Amy Winehouse as well. You take it so literally as if she personally offended you.

can you blame us when most of us have a history of being bullied for years just for enjoying pop music, let alone wearing make up and H&M? :ohwell:

ya'll can convince yourselves it's satire but it clearly isn't

Okay first off it’s a satire about a girl who’s boyfriend is more feminine than she is. This theme has been explored before—Amy Winehouse’s Stronger Than Me, for example.

Also I don’t think Katy’s main goal (at that time anyway) was to be an LGBT icon—girl just wanted to make good music (which she did). She wrote songs that she wanted to write. Not everything/everyone has a secret agenda to either promote/destroy the LGTB...

Still offensive. Y'all can't keep giving Gags excuses for her problematic antics.

You really think Gypsy is offensive?

"Politically correct" at its worst I see :huntyga:
