This! His role has been described by Ryan as a comedic gay hairdresser so obviously he's staying because Ryan listens to his golden stars. Peters, Paulson, and Lange will do whatever he wants for a reason. Reason being that they were given career longevity (except Jessica hers is revitalization of her career) by him, they blindly trusted him in the beginning and it payed off so there is now a mutual trust on both sides. I think evan will stay with ahs cuz Ryan will let him do more of what he wants i mean this season both he and sarah are directing episodes so mark my words this interview is beingblown wayyyy out of proportion. Plus he can always take a season off if he wants to do that romcom. His fiance took 2 seasons off, kathy and lily have taken seasons off, dennis has taken seasons off multiple times now hopefully assuming he comes back eventually, so it's not like he can't break for a year to clear his mind and do a few other lighter roles. For better and worse. Malcom Mc Dowell / Alex the droog. Anthony Perkins / Norman the psycho. Patrick McGoohan / Number 6 the prisoner... From this interview I get it's time for Evan to play a cooler character, then leave AHS and take care of Emma. (Smells like the end of the series anyway). Because Ryan is one of the most renowned TV makers in the industry who has successfully brought upon his cast opportunities to get awards and nominations and recognition? It feels like they stick around him because of the platform Ryan is able to offer to them rather than Ryan forcing them to stay. Ryan is known for constantly offering career opportunities for the minorities and less-known actors and we should give him credit for that. A lot of the actors in his TV shows usually only play very small roles in movies and they are rarely given lead roles unless they work with Ryan. The core actors in Pose are MJ Rodriguez, Dominique Jackson, Indya Moore they are like the essentials of Pose whereas Evan has played all seven seasons of AHS along with Sarah Paulson so for him to leave would make the show very different.
