Mus 7,848
Maybe she was afraid of Frankenstein overshadowing the Joanne era, kinda like Bad Romance did with Paparazzi idk There could be a 1000 doves in the sky...
Der Meister 3,000
The label did not approve the RedOne songs in 2015, saying that she should go for a softer sound. That's why she booked Mark Ronson in early 2016. And I guess they also didn't approve ARTPOP back in 2012 either, that's why she broke her contract with Troy Carter and paid from her pocket the original ARTRAVE in NYC. And thus the reason why she kept changing ARTPOP demos over and over... But who knows? We have no idea what happens behind the curtains.
Schizophonic 7,015
she can keep on with her concept albums but whats the big deal to release every now and then something fresh out the oven?

Of course, Gaga also has a word in it, but remember she is not trying to become a sensation, she already is one. She wants something bigger than that. It's her team, the label has other artists like Kendrick or Selena that have a better promotion righ now than Gaga.

Reality 71,353
I don't know if they'be become "too calculated," I actually argue the opposite. They (whether it be her, her personal team, or the label) seem to be very impulsive when it comes to making decisions. I mean, just look at the single changes. The reason why they change the second single often is because one of the other songs starts doing better and all of a sudden they make that song the next single instead of the one originally planned. Also, on the note about her having tons of unreleased music, it's not like that's anything new. Every artist has tons of unreleased music that will never see the light of day, not just Gaga. Arizona Sky 10,913
The are just too traditional. TV performances don't work as well in 2018. They need to get her involved with Spotify playlists more, its the streaming age.
Jay.P 2,331
Thank you! I really can't figure out why she doesn't just release the **** she records (given it's not totally crap). She always waits too long and is too reserved with her releases. Most things she plans end up being shelved or canceled. I mean she is constantly writing and recording and yet we only hear a fraction of that. An EP from time to time or something wouldn't hurt, idk it doesn't have to be an album. The fact that we will probably never hear what she works on between album cycles makes me sad. Some fans like me would love to discover more about her creative process. Do you hear that? It's poison. We know she writes music all the time, I think it would actually benefit her creative process to put out her work soon after it's created, instead of waiting 1-2 years. In that wait time she can get bored with it. I feel like it would be more exciting for HER as an artist. Tbh when she put out PI she seemed so over it from day 1 already. We got like 3 radio interviews on the release day and then she went back into hiding and creating more music for the album

The singles switches thing always turned out to be good decisions though. Releasing Telephone instead of Alejandro was a great choice because the hype around Beyoncé being featured would have disappeared in time, and then Alejandro was helped by of the hype created by the iconic Telephone video. Marry The Night would have never done better than The Edge of Glory. The Edge of Glory was way fresher and way more radio friendly. Most of the GP said that Do What U Want was pretty much the first Gaga song that they liked since The Fame Monster. Even with controversy and without music video, it did way better than Venus would have been able to do. And Million Reasons really helped selling Joanne. Every performance pushed it to #1 on iTunes, and it's mostly because it was easy for Gaga to make a great performance of it. A-YO is definitely more difficult to perform live, and even if if would've done better then Perfect Illusion, it just couldn't do better than Million Reasons. I also remember RedOne talking about this, he wasn't rude or anything, but he did say something about Gaga being pretty reserved when it comes to features and never being the right time for releasing them (overlapping with her own album cycles, too close to last release, different from her current music path etc.) Also, we know Gaga wanted to release new music more than a year ago, she was just "figuring out the right way". Wtf happened? RedOne mentioned Frankensteined a few days ago. Why didn't they release it for Halloween as it was rumored? It makes me sad that she might've written hundreds of hits that will never see the light of day because she or her team thought it wasn't the right time for some reason, be it another main pop artist release, or fear of it flopping before AHS, ASIB, whatever, or what if people that just became fans with C2C won't like it etc. I'm 99% sure BloodPop is just waiting for her permission to release their collab, but again for some reason she or her team don't want it out yet. And who knows, maybe it will be left aside for too long again, stop being fresh and trendy and stay unreleased forever. Yay Why can't she just go with the flow, release the music that she feels at the moment and stop caring about the best schedule for her business </rant> That got me thinking. It's a bit morbid and terrible of me to think but imagine if she died, (God forbid), then there would so much material for a post-humous album or ten. 🤯
Jewels n Drugs 4,629
I would die for her to be featured on like a rap song or producer song between albums like how she did did Chillin with Wale in 2009. Imagine her on a Drake track or a song like Stache with a popular producer omg oh look when you werent looking my motorcycle turned into a piano
