The testimony included boys being forced to rape their mothers, little girls being told witchcraft would allow them to catch bullets, and women forced to choose gang-rape or death. 

“What happened in the Kasai simply beggars description,” Congo's Human Rights Minister Marie-Ange Mushobekwa told the Council.

"One victim told us that in May 2017 she saw a group of Kamuina Nsapu militia, some of whom sported female genitals (clitorises and vaginas) as medals," the report said. 

"Some witnesses recalled seeing people cutting up, cooking and eating human flesh, including penises cut from men who were still alive and from corpses, especially FARDC, and drinking human blood."

Lead investigator Bacre Waly Ndiaye told the Council that in one incident, at least 186 men and boys from a single village were beheaded by Kamuina Nsapu, many of whose members were children forced to fight, unarmed or wielding sticks, and were convinced that magic had made them invulnerable.

Many such child soldiers were killed when FARDC soldiers machine-gunned them indiscriminately, he said.

Fear. These are children who, like all, are afraid of death or harm (either to them or their families). Like the SS, some are told that their family will survive if they commit these atrocities. Others are just too afraid to fight back. 

The Congo has been plagued by death, abuse, and civil war since colonization. It really one of the saddest places on earth.

When my grandfather in Portugal was in the war like 50 years ago they were in Africa either Angola or Mozambique (I forget which one) but it was one of the Countries Portugal had taken over or had influence in

 

Anyway they used to torture their black prisoners and take out their nails as they were alive screaming and they would chop off their heads and play with it

 

My grandpa didn't understand when he came back how he and the rest did such crazy things without feeling crazy or remorse at the time

 

He found out later the military used to put drugs in the drinks of the soldiers and stuff to make them crazy and fearless and it basically shut down the human consience as well

 

I know this isn't quite the same but it reminded me of it

It really is crazy how terrible humans can be. Like if you think of us purely as a species. They whole purpose of living is to further the species. So what purpose do these acts serve? It’s gotta be all about power cuz that’s a technique to survive. 

Sad that this is even an action the human brain can think up and conduct. You’d think we would’ve evolved enough not to do this. Like do other species treat their own species this way?

It shows how of all the species on earth we are capable of being the most evil

 

Yes some animals kill out of instinct to protect themselves or for food

 

There's no other species on earth that I know of however that will kill or torture just for the fun of it or some alternate gain and take pleasure in it

 

Yes most humans won't do anything like that but the point is there's enough who do that u can say as a species we are capable of it

 

If aliens are studying us we sure as hell are probably being flagged as a future potential problem in the galactic community
