MGM is rushing to release a reboot while the original creator/cast are ongoing with the original franchise with the upcoming television series/future sequels. Since MGM owns the rights to the original film, it sucks they'd do just as news of the television series broke out. Don, Brad and any other cast members are not involved with this and rightfully so. Anyway, Child's Play series have never been THAT scary anyway, it's only good for merchandise selling, so my guessing is that this remake will need to fix that as their home work; make it scary. Mgm had been planning to do this for a while and remakes usually happen around the 30th anniversary of a franchise(Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street). I’m excited for it. Well, if the remake will be made, the sequels need to be canceled otherwise it will make some timeline confusion. I am assuming they will retcon everything, including those new sequels.
