According to a report from Billboard, the arrest of CD sales will happen nationwide.

Due to digital streaming services such as Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora and others, CD sales have been falling in recent years.

Best Buy’s CD sales have recently only brought in about $40 million annually.

Interestingly, though, best buy will continue to sell vinyl records for the next two years.

There’s nothing more special than owning physical copies of your favorite artists albums.

:madge:

down with streaming

i don't think cd's will die out forever though, vinyls are expensive and high maintenance and there will always be a physical format since only having the lack of internet is enough to cut you off from music entirely

People rarely go to stores for buying CDs anymore anyway since the advent of online shopping. And most people would opt for Amazon than other retailers. Except for when certain retailer are doing special edition like Target.

So yeah, that is kinda sad but predictable.
