lIm not saying he is irrelevant. im just voicing an opinion and happy to discuss. Youre taking what I say and bringing it to an extreme that i never intended.

Also, the way you talk is rude and aggressive. It's not cool.

“He is not that relevant”

- you on this thread

If he isnt relevant then who is? If he is “not that relevant” then that makes every other artist a nobody.

What's with people discrediting artist based on their opinion? Your opinion means nothing, you can't say who is relevant, who is important or whatever. The majority of people do that, by buying something, by streaming, watching or whatever. You can say for you it's not relevant, but please stop discrediting artist cause you don't like them, you just look stupid, period!

And i don't even care about him, but people seem to love him, so kudos to him, those streams are insane.

How can anyone not like streaming though?? It’s literally music right at your fingertips done legally.

Congrats to him.

I think it’s not the streaming itself listening to the music and the way it works, I think it’s more that the numbers get made publicly and charts etc. which can lead to the whole ‘flop’ vs ‘succesful’ fave thing and the ‘overratedness’ signature status some artists get by this.

charts are trying their best to fix it. In the UK, if a song has been charting for more than 10 weeks, its streams are cut in half. No Tears Left to Cry fell #5 to #23 in its 11th week on the UK Charts.

Next week in the U.S (coincidentally after Drake drops his album) Billboard is implementing a rule where free Spotify streams will be weighed less than paid subscription Spotify streams.

As of today Drake is the best selling singles artist in the United States. He passed Rihanna's 124 million with a whopping 148 million singles sold in the United States. WOW.

Right...because One Dance, Started From The Bottom, Take Care, Hold On We're Going Home, The Motto aren't still relevant and haven't made any sort of impact on music.

Get tf out of here with this completely irrational mindset with absolutely zero basis. He's slaying the charts, radio, clubs, streams, and overall relevance and you just simply don't want to accept it.

I hate the mentality on here, where people can't even recognize the legitimate success of other artists, especially in different genres.

He remains ascending while you remain posting on a Lady Gaga web forum. Goodbye.

who cares if he's remembered, he definitely wont be remembered for making outstanding music :ladyhaha:

y'all are wondering why Drake is pulling those numbers...it's because he's relatable and brings emotion into his songs.

you can hate the music genre and the artist, but his appeal is real and people are seeing themselves in him, that's why he's on top right now. people relate to people who come from nothing to something (no pun intended) and are vocal and open about their feelings and heartbreaks, etc.

Drake is probably the least problematic rapper out there and he deserves all the success he's getting and is going to get. I'm a Drake stan and I don't get the hate here at all. Let him be on top, it's not like he's hurting you personally doing it.

I dont care what you appreciate. The fact is Drake is the biggest artist in the world right now. I dont even like him nor have I listened to his album but that doesnt stop the fact that he’s had 2 #1’s this year and is going to have the biggest album of the year.

His success relies on US as far as I am concerned.

I disagree. For example, he never (and probs never will) headline the superbowl.

Still. Ppl can like and enjoy whatever they want. Entertainment and art is subjective and no one can say it's gotten worse or better

Its in the eye of the beholder
