Is Xtina the martyr of pop?

She's gone down the wrong path.

She is seeking a big breakout hit but she's fallen too far for that. She thinks she made moves like "jagger/say something" successful.

The route back is tough but obvious. First and foremost she needs a vocal coach to teach her how to sing in an operatic style. Her voice is older now and with her sound the operatic style would suit her more. That method is what made Leona Lewis so good. And Celine... and Whitney...

If I were her manager I would have her promoted as one of the all time greats. A vocal legend. Get her some live promo spots after vocal training at places like small awards shows, galas etc. Belting out a ballad of hers.

Then finally get critical claim and the all important "sold out show" sticker by booking some theatre sized venues for an intimate tour of ballads and hits, refreshed for her current voice.

But she wouldn't show up for rehearsal and wouldn't take the advice. She's the car crash of pop.

XTina burned out her relevance. She was nowhere for 6 years, arguably 8 :selena:

Both her last albums flopped horribly, and Lotus flopped mostly because Bionic did before it. So yeah. U can have the best management in the world but nobody can restore interest in a GP that has forgotten you.

The Most Popular Girls in School megarate is cancelled!

Circus? Are you joking? britney's best album it is either In the zone or blackout, circus is nothing to talk about... and well  both have end up being like a joke but you can't compare them: Britney gave us such a brilliant start with so many pop  classics  but is someone who is really medicated, can't promote, can't give interviews and never sings live. I don't think anybody beside her fans gives her any credibility.

Xtina had everything: she could sing, she could dance more or less and she had attitude. She wasn't ugly but she had a lot of bad style choices.

Her first album sold well and she was everywhere with her Latin and Christmas album and with some collaborations. She did right with Stripped, which is a classic pop album. B2B is such a good album but wasn't prompted right. It sold well and the tour was successful.

Everything started to go wrong when she released her GH, it was too soon. Bionic wasn't bad, but she got through a divorce and wasn't promoted at all.

Then she got fat and fat and  her voice started to get worse and worse... the media was so mean to her with the Gaga comparison... she said some comments that were not not very kind on her ("I don't know if he is a male or a woman...) that buried Bionic, everyone hated her 10 years ago.

Then she focused on The Voice and she released Lotus, worst album ever... with the worst promotion... She couldn't sing back then. She had the worst performances... She was so fat that she couldn't move. As a fan it was so painful to see.

She abandoned the album quickly and got back to The Voice. 6 years recording music that surely her label rejected.

Liberation is such a good album but the problem is Xtina herself: once again she has gained a lot of weight and when that happens, her voice suffers. She can't barely sing now... Her performances are not good. Too many years of alcohol and surely some drugs... her voice is over. Then her best friends are some of her Stripped dancers, her coreographer, her hairdresser, surely people that always say what she wants to hear. Accelerate is cool but then you see the video and damn, it's embarrassing, she did the same 10 years ago with Not Myself Tonight.

She has focused on her family too, her children and she left her music career and that is why it's not doing well. I'm sad that she is struggling to sell both album and tour  tickets.

At least I think she has a great attitude for TV... but she fu**ed up when she has talked sh*t about The Voice... now who wants her on their show ?

Who knew that the main problem was her gaining weight

When Xtina gains weight her confidence disappears and she gets so nervous when hits the stage.

Damon

the main problem is the music she has been creating though, I REALLY gave Bionic, Lotus and Liberation a try but they bored me so much, sure they have some good tracks (Not Myself Tonight, Your Body, Just a Fool and Fall in Line) but that's it

... and now i just sit in silence.

No, she is not a martyr, nobody is.

Xtine just need better management and better albums. These two things must go together. Only one of them will not do. You can record he best album ever but with poor management, it will not be heard enough. And you can have the best manager in the world, but with weak music, it won't sell.

She did lots more promo for Liberation era so that is a step on the right direction. The new album is decent, but it is not strong enough to bring her to the forefront of the music. She needed an album that can bring her the second wind for her career, Madonna has it with Ray of Light, and Britney has it with Circus for examples.

and Mariah had with The Emancipation of Mimi
