Thomas P 18,479
I know that these threads probably exist, but I’m making another one anyway. Lorde has been the only artist in my lifetime to ever truly capture how I feel. Pure Heroine came out when I was 12, and I went through my teenage years with that album essentially guiding me. When Melodrama came out, even though I’m not a young adult, it still managed to speak to me on a level that other albums never have. Melodrama has truly became one of, if not my favourite album, of all time. From the STUNNING production (my favourite style of production in music), to the cohesion, etc, I just love it and PH so much!!! I think she’s the 2010s version of the angsty teenage artist, but she’s so much better at encapsulating the actual feelings, and she speaks to people in the gay community much better. I think her voice is so unique, and quite fantastic, I think she’s one of the absolute greatest songwriters in history, and I think that she’s actually quite an amazing and entertaining performer. Shes also had quite a broad influence on pop music of this era. After her success with Pure Heroine, artists started taking that trip-pop relatable approach that was really seen before her (2013 was a year of hip-hop, electronic, and ballads). Examples of artists that have followed her: -Troye Sivan (listen to Blue Neighbourhood right after Pure Heroine, and you’ll hear what I mean) -Alessia Cara -Daya -Halsey and many others. (PS, i love some of those artists, Troye is my favourite gay singer ever, so that absolutely was not meant to be taken as shade) To wrap it up, I just want to say that Lorde is one of the artists I’ll cherish for the rest of my life. I ****ing love that bitch! I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill.

Ryusei 61,110
I just hope the next album won't take 4 years AS much as I think Melodrama is basically perfect, it's such a long time... Musery
Saint Hollywood 37,364
I saw her live in April of this year, and let me just say... She is one of the most unique artists of this generation. Melodrama is currently my favorite album of all time... there hasn't been an artist (not even Gaga, but I love her to death) that has connected with me emotionally as much as Lorde has. Plus... her dancing is a mood.

If the next album is as fantastic as Melodrama or Pure Heroine, then I can wait a while If her art needs a good amount of time to be perfected, then so be it
baptism 2,670
Oh Lorde is absolutely incredible. Melodrama (the album) defines an era in my entire life and it's just so perfect it gives me butterflies thinking about it lol.
ryanripley 86,575
i feel bad for people who think Melodrama is overrated, imagine hearing perfection and thinking it's bad https://goo.gl/xMgMvJ
Antichrist 9,818
i remember being severely obsessed with PH & then randomly finding out a few years later that she's planning another album. i didn't get into Green Light that much right away, took me a few weeks, but when Melodrama dropped, i completely lost it. Supercut, The Louvre & Liability, imo, will forever be some of her best work
gag 22,449
I'd say she's the best artist of this generation ('this' generation being 90s musicians). Her lyricism is magic, the production on every song she has is meticulously done and her live shows are incredible. There's not a single bad song in her entire discography. headspin, happiness, DE̤̣A̢̯͔̘T͏͙̗̟̫H̗̙͡ͅ

Monsterish 5,520
I always say that Lorde is likely the daughter of Lady Gaga and Lana Del Rey Her songwriting skills, her charisma as artist, they way she express the today young generation, she's lovely perfect
Punktious 1,348
Melodrama is my favorite album of all time. I've spent the majority of last year and this year listening to it. The only other album I've done this with is ARTPOP and Joanne. I'm not a young adult but Melodrama has touched me in such an unwavering way. I saw her live in March and it was the best concert I have ever been to and I saw the JWT. Gags will always be my favorite artist but Lorde is not far off from her
