Ok some of my knowledge of the Bible is rusty these days but I thought Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed for badness in general including violence. I don't think it was for homosexuality specifically??? In fact I think it was just a side mention

Some religious scholars to this day insist that the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah had to do with general decadence, depravity, sexual freedom, the violence of the sodomites, etc. and not specifically homosexuality, as you claim. Some say it had to do with the way that the angels were received upon delivering their warning (with violence, depravity, etc.) Regardless, it's still often thought as being destroyed because of homosexuality, despite a decent amount of contextual and cross-referenced evidence to the contrast  (The distinction is that in this interpretation homosexuality* is more likely just a byproduct of sexual freedom and transgression, not a specific illness or perversion that God specifically wants to eradicate or that he finds especially sinful, which is an important distinction to make, as a lot of religious arguments against homosexuality in Christianity stem from the exceptionality of homosexuality, when it's very arguable that its not an exceptional sin at all)

*This version of "homosexuality" is perhaps better understood as homosexual behavior and is different from the concept of romantic relationships and identities, it's rather sex committed for the forbidden aspect of it, a general sign of decadence... it also is commonly related to Pederasty, where elders would have sex with young boys, --- something that still happens today, oops.

私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから

Good. Why protect a delusional and fickle thing you can get over (religion)… rather than something you can't get over (queerness)? Ugh my country's mind.

My boss and some coworkers and some family members are Jehovah's witnesses (that's how they knew my boss and how I got my job) and they know I'm bisexual and stuff

I never really been treated weird nor have I ever seen them disrespect a gay. I know they don't agree with the act tho

At least extremes for sure if they harm others

Lmao what's this ever supposed to mean? Gay sex isn't an opinion or some conspiracy theory.

Imagine if instead of religion and sky wizards, rich people invented tree worshiping? How amazing would it be to live on this cute little planet? Trees everywhere and people protesting and killing for trees. :diane:

This is a messy subject. On the one hand, a gay student probably shouldn't be in that school on the first place but on the other hand it's not like parents are able to tell if their child is gay anyway until they decide to come out.

I was put in a Christian school after coming out to my parents and lemme tell ya it wouldve been nice to have Canada’s laws. I wasn’t the only gay kid there either

I think very few if any religions teach to kill gays

I think it's extremist individuals that make that interpretation for themselves (for example Muslims don't tell u to kill them but ISIS decided to teach that anyway)

Extremists take it from the scripture though :awkney:

I don't see how this is discrimination...

I didn't read the whole thing but basically the only issue is people there can't have sex outside of marriage? Meaning that unmarried straight people (ie the vast majority of students) can't do it either?

LGBT people are still free to attend as long as they abstain/are celibate like all the straight people in it? If you don't agree with that don't attend the school...

don't take it as literal please :messga:

i can only imagine how a gay person would be treated in those classes, the rules are a setup for discrimination and bullying
