The lyrics faking the theme of a love song but actually being about her being ditched by Def Jam Records and her wish of not being surrounded by fake people who were at her side for money and fame. The volontary use of some autotune because of those people who absolutely wanted her to do so. I always found that song as a huge F*** to the music industry who didn't want her when she started. That urban vibes fit to the theme so good. The song is produced and co-written with RedOne and it can be heard in Telephone music video (which is funny because Beyoncé's husband was the head of Def Jam until 2008, when they ditched her) Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
