Paper Gangsta appreciation thread

Just a thread to show love for my favorite song from The Fame which is soooo underated in the fanbase to me.

The lyrics faking the theme of a love song but actually being about her being ditched by Def Jam Records and her wish of not being surrounded by fake people who were at her side for money and fame. The volontary use of some autotune because of those people who absolutely wanted her to do so.

I always found that song as a huge F*** to the music industry who didn't want her when she started. That urban vibes fit to the theme so good.

The song is produced and co-written with RedOne and it can be heard in Telephone music video (which is funny because Beyoncé's husband was the head of Def Jam until 2008, when they ditched her)

I'm super glad you and other people love this song, but it's one of my least favorites. I don't like the lyrics and I HATE the sound. It really irks me, every time I hear it, ha.

I know that people here are soooo much with vocals, but she really didn't need this to slay that song. The message, the production and the lyrics were far enough to make it great

i love this song especially the part when there is only instrumental after chorus at 2:35 and on. it's melancholic and takes me to different places

This and Eh Eh are the only songs that are still listenable from The Fame. The rest haven't aged well at all

Just Dance, Poker Face, LoveGame, Paparazzi. Even Beautiful Dirty Rich aged very well. I mean we still hear a lot her big hits even on the radios.

Only my opinion but her loud EDM from ARTPOP aged far worse
