REALITY 78,362 Posted June 7, 2018 Share Posted June 7, 2018 It's roughly been a day since we got our first trailer for A Star Is Born, and it looks absolutely amazing! Not to mention, this soundtrack is going to be much more incredible and epic than I would have ever thought. And I know this may be premature since it's only a trailer, and we haven't seen the full movie yet, but I want to know people's opinions about what they think of Gaga and her possible future acting career. In the beginning, there were quite a number of people who were hesitant about Gaga making ASIB and even some people who said that they'd rather her drop it and just continue with music. However, since the trailer, I've literally not read one nasty comment about her and this movie (which is incredible!), so I'm assuming that people's opinions might have changed on the subject... Personally, I've never been as excited as I am now about Gaga acting—I didn't watch AHS before Hotel, so I wasn't invested enough in the series to be super excited—but now that I've seen the trailer and listened to a verse of one of the songs (a verse that has been stuck in my head since the trailer launched), I can confidently say that I'm super stoked about Gaga's acting career forwards. It’s what people like Streisand, Dolly, Cher... even Madonna have done. If it’s something she wants to invest time in, I don’t see why she shouldn’t continue to pursue it. I think she should make more movies and music so that we get the best of both worlds (greedy ). Anyway, she gave us American Horror Story: Hotel and Cheek to Cheek in the same year, and Joanne and Roanoke in the same year, so I don't see why not, with some time management she's able to pull it off. A Star Is Born was shot while Joanne was ongoing so time shouldn't be a problem. And I'm sure she's more than willing to invest in more movies, now that A Star Is Born has solidified her acting career to a strong extent. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

ASIB, when all is said and done will probably take up around a year of her life, so it would have to be something that she's really passionate about. Gaga's a great actress, but one thing that has always sort of—for lack of a better term—bothered me was that in terms of the roles she takes, they're nothing too out of her comfort zone. That's not to say that I'm not excited about this upcoming movie, because I definitely am, but I think in the future when she really starts to get the hang of it, she should branch out and try out different roles. But of course she should if she wants to (and I have a sneaking suspicion she does). Why would anybody limit their means of artistic expression? Being a singer/actress is tricky though and not many get away with it. Cher did. Madonna (sorry!) didn't. I just hope ASIB is received well and she doesn't have to fight against the GPs ignorance more than she allready does.
