I and will always believe that it should’ve been the spot for Applause therefore she didn’t have to pay ARTPOP dust and it was perfect for the show

Telephone was in the mood of the SB (+ the fact it's one of her biggest hits). It was a big party.

Applause is very dance with the instru but the lyrics are just too self-centered to be included tbh...

I wanted Perfect Illusion or Applause instead of Telephone but I guess they weren't as huge as Telephone was.

She literally just sang her top hits, if you go to billboard and look at Gaga’s songs performance, you can see the top songs are the Super Bowl Playlist

Not The Real Gaga

Self centered where? Applause isn’t saying “hey look at me give me attention, give me your applause”, what she was saying with Applause is that she lives for the applause which results from the audience being happy with the performance. So she lives for making people happy

Yeah, try explaining that to the general audience.

Tbh I’m curious why she didn’t do Alejandro. I guess maybe it would have slowed things too much when you also factor in MR being there? Because it has the success global and otherwise to have been included.

Because it's bigger than The Edge of Glory. Wasn't Telephone the 8th biggest WW song in 2010?

The real question is, why didn't she perform Applause aka her best stadium single?

I'm still salty for Applause being ignored >:(

A lot of these reasons are pretty correct, I think a lot of things changed and they had a few different show-options and song choices.

I also think that with everything Gaga does, she ultimately is telling the story of her career, and Telephone is vital in that story. She definitely chose her best that night.

The melody that you choose can rescue you ♥
