And I am one of the most exited persons for this movie. But I just don’t think it will be that huge. No one apart me even knows there is a movie with Gaga coming out (speaking of friends an family) + Venom is coming out the same day. Also it’s the 4th version of that movie. I doubt it gets an Oscar. Maybe for the music, idk. I just don’t think it will be a movie wich will be remembered by the GP. It is a huge deal because it's not a commercial blockbuster, it's a movie targeted for awards and Oscars, and showcases Gaga's acting and singing abilities, it and Venom have completely different target audiences, I'm sure people will show up to A Star Is Born screenings. It won't die. I know a lot of people who would prefer to watch A Star Is Born-type movies rather than Venom-type movies, despite NOT being a fan of Bradley or Gaga, they simply prefer drama and movies which focus on real content rather than visuals ala Venom. And yes it’s a different audience but let’s say in „history books“ there will only be writen the facts and so in my eyes ASIB will desapear with the time like many movies did. I don’t say it’s a bad movie, nobody saw it. I just say that I don’t think it will be a huge deal in movie history. And I really am intrested to see If it will get any oscars, or even any Oscar nomination cause it’s the 4th version of the movie. And that’s what I am most worried about. That people see the movie as an old and already very used concept. Not about gagas acting skills or vocals. Sure it will get good critics, especially from professionals but don’t forget, even if it’s sad, that in the end it’s the GP wich will descide about the glory or the fall of that movie. Of course the have different audiences. But the drama/real audience IS smaller. That’s a fact. Just look at all the movies listed as best sold. Also. As I said in the post right above. It’s the 4th version of this movie. And that makes me kind of stressed about how well it will be recived. I am scared that the movie gets 0 oscars/Oscar nominations just cause of this fact. Maybe for the music. But not the big Oscar nominations. But as I said, I didn’t see the movie, so that’s pure speculation of myself by the infos we have by now. Everything can change, even my opinion. So let’s wait until October 5th and let’s talk about this again then.
